  • Patent number: 8472785
Abstract: A digital information recording-reproducing apparatus which records and reproduces a digital information signal transmitted together with an additional information includes a discriminator which discriminates a type of the digital information signal based on the additional information, a recorder which generates control information based on the additional information, adds the control information to the digital information signal, and records the digital information signal having the control information added thereto, a reproducer which reproduces the recorded digital information signal recorded by the recorder, and a controller which controls reproduction based on the control information. When the discriminator discriminates the type of the digital information signal as being a specific type and the digital information signal is recorded by the recorder, the reproducer reproduces the digital information signal.

  • Patent number: 8437615
Abstract: In a case of recording and managing a program which has a plurality of image streams in one program, it is necessary to address which stream a logic table which records a position of an I picture for high-speed fast forwarding and rewinding corresponds to. In a recording method which records a digital broadcast, in particular one method is provided which records and manages the program which has the plurality of image streams in one program. In the case in which there are a plurality of image streams in one program, as information which indicates which stream the logic table of the I picture, for carrying out the fast forwarding and rewinding operations quickly, corresponds to, a component tag fixed by a European or Japanese digital broadcast standard is recorded with the logic table.

  • Patent number: 8391682
Abstract: A recording method of recording received digital broadcasting on a medium, wherein a stream other than first and last portions is recorded with a predetermined number of recording packets, and the number of recording packets of the first and last portions of an AV stream file is recorded as management data. This method, which records an AV stream basically with a specified number of recording packets in order to improve the performance of access to a medium, thereby makes it possible to improve the splitting accuracy when the user splits a program, overcoming a restriction caused by the specified number of recording packets.

  • Patent number: 8346061
Abstract: The digital signal recording/reproducing apparatus inputs a digital signal having a control flag as to a temporary copy permission, and records the digital signal temporarily into a recording medium in accordance with conditions in the control flag, then reproducing the digital signal temporarily from the recording medium in accordance with the conditions in the control flag. The recording/reproducing of the temporary copy is permitted, depending on the following conditions: The recording medium's type, the reproducing point-in-time, the reproducing time-period, and the reproducing frequency. With this method employed, even in a program permitting no recording, the temporary recording/reproducing is permitted under a condition of being limited to the time-shift recording on the receiving side.

  • Patent number: 8340501
Abstract: A video signal input-output circuit and a recording-reproduction apparatus in which a digitally compressed video signal input in packet form can be recorded and reproduced efficiently and in stable fashion. In this apparatus, a clock reference is detected from a packet signal containing the clock reference and a digitally compressed video signal, a time stamp for a packet is generated using a clock signal in phase with the clock reference and added to the particular packet, and the packet signals with the time stamp added thereto are recorded closely to each other in a data storage element such as a magnetic recording medium. At playback, the packet interval is output by being restored to the original length on the basis of the time stamp added to the packet in store.

  • Patent number: 8225084
Abstract: Before content transmission, the content transmitting device and the content receiving device mutually authenticate each other to verify that the other device respects copyright and rightfully handles content, and then content is encrypted by shared key data and transmitted. It is arranged that in an authentication process, a time from transmission of an authentication request or a time from transmission of an authentication response until arrival of receipt acknowledgement data is measured and only when a measured time is less than a fixed upper-limit value, content is transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20120128331
Abstract: This invention enhances usability while performing copy control when recording a digital broadcast program specified as “Copy One Generation”. In this copy control method, digital contents received by a first recording apparatus are copied to a second recording apparatus via a network interface and to a third recording apparatus via a local interface according to the copy control information received by the first recording apparatus. When the received control information indicates “Copy Free with Limit of the Number” permitting a predetermined copy number of multiple copies, the received digital contents can be recorded and managed in the first recording apparatus to be copied up to the predetermined copy number. The digital contents copied to the second recording apparatus are managed as “No More Copies”, and the digital contents copied to the third recording apparatus are managed as “No More Copies and No Move”.

  • Publication number: 20120066742
Abstract: The usability while performing copy control can be enhanced in the case of recording a digital broadcast program for which recording of one generation is permitted (“Copy One Generation”). When an output route in the case of copying digital contents from a first recording apparatus to a second recording apparatus is via LAN, authentication is executed between the first recording apparatus and the second recording apparatus. The capability of a move process with a predetermined copy number of multiple copies being kept is confirmed, and dedicated key information is shared to be used for encryption and decryption of the digital contents moved with the predetermined copy number of multiple copies being kept. Then, the digital contents recorded and managed in the first recording apparatus is added with the information about the predetermined copy number of multiple copies, and transmitted.
