  • Patent number: 7197295
Abstract: A portable communication device including a GPS antenna, a GPS processing circuit for determining a location of the device based on a signal received by the antenna, a location information processing circuit for detecting the location information corresponding to a determined result, a key input device for inputting a telephone number of a communication terminal device for transmitting the location information, a control circuit, and a transmitting circuit. The key input device is provided with a LOST key. The control circuit feeds the location information detected by the location information processing circuit to the transmitting circuit when the LOST key is manipulated. The transmitting circuit transmits the location information to the communication terminal device having the inputted telephone number. This realizes a portable communication device which is adapted to notify others of the accurate present location of the device.

  • Patent number: 7096050
Abstract: The present invention provides a portable telephone comprising an openable/closable casing having a display 13a, a magnetic sensor 18b for detecting whether the casing is opened or closed, and a control circuit 10. When a message is received with the casing closed, the control circuit 10 displays the contents of the received message on the display 13a. When the casing in an opening state is thereafter detected, the control circuit 10 displays on the display 13a a reply-message-preparation screen for preparing a reply message to be sent to a sender of the received message.

  • Patent number: 7031743
Abstract: The present invention provides a foldable portable communication terminal device including a main body case and a lid case openably connected. The main body case has a side portion provided with an up key and a down key. The portable communication terminal device has a secondary battery, power supplying switch, and a control circuit incorporated therein. The control circuit switches the power supply switch to on/off when the up key and the down key are held depressed at the same time for at least the predetermined period of time. This starts or stops power supply from the secondary battery to the device body to switch the power source of the device body to on/off. Accordingly, the foldable portable communication terminal device can be realized which is adapted to turn off the power source of the device body with the main body case and the lid case folded together.

  • Patent number: 7006835
Abstract: A position information providing system of the invention, portable telephones A and B are connectable to a service center. The telephone A has a GPS processing circuit for measuring its own position and a control circuit. The circuit prepares position information based on the measurements obtained by the GPS processing circuit, also prepares a list comprising the numbers of a plurality of telephones in response to an input manipulation by the user, and transmits the prepared list data to the center. When an information request signal is supplied from the telephone B to the center, the server transmits the position information as to the telephone A to the telephone B only when the number of the telephone B is not included in the list data. Thus, the system realized is adapted to reliably protect the privacy of the person carrying the telephone A.

  • Patent number: 6915143
Abstract: A portable telephone of the present invention comprises a casing, a LCD 18 and a key input device 20 disposed on a surface of the casing. The casing has a microphone 17 for delivering speech, a speaker 16 for receiving speech, a backlight 19 for lighting a screen of the LCD 18, a key light device 21 for lighting a manipulation surface of the key input device 20, and a control circuit 15 incorporated therein. The control circuit 15 checks whether a speech delivery signal input from the microphone 17 is a voice signal. If the speech delivery signal is a voice signal, display operation of the LCD 18 is set to OFF and both the backlight 19 and the key light device 21 are turned off. If the signal is not a voice signal, display operation of the LCD 18 is set to ON. Consequently, useless power consumption is reduced.
