  • Patent number: 10114214
Abstract: An illumination apparatus having scanning laser source and a vehicle headlight using the illumination apparatus includes a light source, a wavelength converting member and a mirror mounted on a movable frame unit configured to rotate the mirror about two orthogonal axes. Light emitted by the light source is reflected by the mirror such that rotation of the mirror by the movable frame unit scans the reflected light in two directions at a substantially right angle with respect to each other and/or direct the reflected light towards the wavelength converting member to provide various color lights. The movable frame unit might be actuated by an AC voltage having a low frequency.

  • Patent number: 10099602
Abstract: A vehicle lamp is configured to form a predetermined light distribution pattern (such as a high-beam light distribution pattern) in which a plurality of irradiation patterns each provided with a non-irradiation region is superimposed. The vehicle lamp prevents an area of a common non-irradiation region from decreasing even if the non-irradiation regions formed in the plurality of respective irradiation patterns are displaced from each other. As a result, glare light is prevented from occurring to an irradiation-prohibited object. In the vehicle lamp configured to form the predetermined light distribution pattern in which the plurality of irradiation patterns each provided with the non-irradiation region is superimposed, the plurality of irradiation patterns is superimposed so that the non-irradiation regions are superimposed to form the common non-irradiation region, and the non-irradiation regions formed in the plurality of respective irradiation patterns have sizes different from each other.

  • Patent number: 10023104
Abstract: A vehicle lighting device includes a projector lens, a lens holder, a main body barrel, a bottom cover, a first to a fourth excitation light sources, an upper and a lower light deflector, a correction mirror, and a fluorescent unit. The first and the second excitation light source emit laser beams toward the rotational center of a light-deflecting mirror of the upper light deflector, and the third and the fourth excitation light source emit laser beams toward that of the lower light deflector. The correction mirror corrects the distortion of the laser beams scanned by the upper and lower light deflectors and reflects the corrected laser beams. A two-dimensional image corresponding to a predetermined light distribution pattern is drawn as a white image on the fluorescent unit by the corrected light beams, and the two-dimensional image is projected on a virtual vertical screen through the projector lens.

  • Publication number: 20170057399
Abstract: A vehicle lamp includes a light polarizer that two-dimensionally scans excitation light forms a light intensity distribution having relatively high light intensity in a partial region (such as a region near the center), the light intensity distribution being required for a vehicle lamp. A control unit controls a first actuator by using resonance drive as well as a second actuator by using nonresonant drive so that a two-dimensional image is formed in a scan region with excitation light that is two-dimensionally scanned by a mirror unit and controls the second actuator to relatively reduce an oscillation rate around a second axis of the mirror unit, while the two-dimensional image is drawn in a partial region in the scan region with the excitation light that is two-dimensionally scanned by the mirror unit, to form the light intensity distribution having relatively high light intensity in the partial region in the scan region.

  • Publication number: 20150175054
Abstract: An optical deflector apparatus and a vehicle headlight including the optical deflector apparatus can include a light source, a wavelength converting member and a rotatable mirror. The optical deflector apparatus can scan light emitted from the light source in two dimensional directions intersecting at a substantially right angle with respect to each other using actuators, which can be driven by an AC voltage having a low frequency, and also can provide various color lights by passing the scanned light into the wavelength converting member. Accordingly, the optical deflector apparatus can have a high reliability and a long life due to the low frequency drive, and can be used as a lighting unit for a stage lighting, a room lighting for warming up events, etc. The disclosed subject matter can also provide vehicle headlights using the optical deflector apparatus having a higher reliability and a longer life for driving safety.
