  • Patent number: 4373826
Abstract: A fastener assembly is disclosed which comprises a clip for mounting a constituent member to a corresponding receiving member. A socket portion is integrally formed on the constituent member, which socket portion has a cylindrical opening with a pair of engaging projections extending from opposing inner peripheral surface portions of the opening toward each other. The clip has a shaft, a support portion formed at a longitudinal central portion of the shaft and adapted to fit in the opening of the socket portion, a pair of spearhead-shaped snap portions formed at opposite ends of the shaft, one of which snap portions is adapted to fit in the opening of the socket portion and engage the projections, and small flexible bosses which retain said one of the snap portions in the opening when this snap portion is disengaged from the projections. A mounting hole is bored on the receiving member so as to receive the other one of the snap portions.

  • Patent number: 4266824
Abstract: A weatherstrip retainer unit and a roof construction using the weatherstrip retainer unit are disclosed. The weatherstrip retainer unit comprises a retainer section and an integral molding section. The roof construction is designed to accommodate well to the installation of a roof rack in which a gutter strip has a flange overlying on the inside surface of a downwardly extending roof edge portion of a roof so as to reinforce the latter. The roof rack is placed with each leg engaging the outside surface of the reinforced roof edge. A plurality of generally U-shaped fasteners are used, each having its longer arm fixedly screwed to the roof rack and its shorter arm engaging the flange of the gutter strip.

  • Patent number: 4168858
Abstract: A spring clip having a protruded branch is bonded to a frame such that the branch is faced to an edge of a fixed window glass panel. When a decorative moulding strip is hooked to the clip member to cover the unsightly parts of the window assembly, a portion of the branch is urged to engage with the edge of the glass panel for thereby urging the clip member into firm contact with the frame structure. With this, the undesirable phenomenon of the clip being torn from the frame during the engagement of the moulding strip with the clip is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4161851
Abstract: A motor vehicle window assembly comprises painted body panels having a side wall defining a window opening, and a glass pane for closing the window opening adhesively attached to the vehicle body panels. A spacer is adhesively attached to and extends continuously along all of the longitudinal length of the side wall. A molding is mounted to conceal a space between the edge of the glass pane and the side wall and has a depending flange portion engaging the spacer. The provision of the spacer prevents the molding from mechanically contacting with the painted vehicle body panel to thereby eliminate a possibility that the paint on the body panel adjacent the window opening is chipped or peeled off by the molding.
