  • Publication number: 20200391840
Abstract: A ship maneuvering system includes a propulsion unit to steer the ship body, a trim adjuster on the ship body, a detector to detect a traveling state of the ship, and a controller. The controller operates the trim adjuster in a state in which the steering angle of the propulsion unit is set to a first steering angle. The controller sets the steering angle of the propulsion unit to a second steering angle different from the first steering angle to correct a change of the traveling state of the ship due to an operation of the trim adjuster.

  • Publication number: 20200364503
Abstract: A computer-implemented method is provided for reducing training costs for an ensemble of machine-learning-based classifiers. The method includes training, by a processor, a given machine-learning-based classifier from among the ensemble to obtain a trained classifier. The method further includes dumping, by the processor, parameters used to train the trained classifier to obtain dumped parameters. The method also includes recording, by the processor, change rates of each of the dumped parameters. The method additionally includes creating, by the processor without training, a new classifier from at least one other machine-learning-based classifier in the ensemble by calculating the dumped parameters plus change rates times random numbers for each local prediction by the trained classifier.

  • Publication number: 20200341765
Abstract: A method performed during execution of a compilation process for a program having nested loops is provided. The method replaces multiple conditional branch instructions for a processor which uses a conditional branch instruction limited to only comparing a value of a general register with a value of a special register that holds a loop counter value. The method generates, in replacement of the multiple conditional branch instructions, the conditional branch instruction limited to only comparing the value of the general register with the value of the special register that holds the loop counter value for the inner-most loop. The method adds (i) a register initialization outside the nested loops and (ii) a register value adjustment to the inner-most loop. The method defines the value for the general register for the register initialization and conditions for the generated conditional branch instruction, responsive to requirements of the multiple conditional branch instructions.
