  • Patent number: 4409709
Abstract: An apparatus for continuous untwisting and crimping of a cloth, including in a treating chamber, a pair of endless net conveyers spaced vertically apart and forming a gap therebetween to serve as a cloth passage. A plurality of jet pipes, each having a series of nozzles, are arranged to jet a high pressure fluid into the cloth passage. The jet pipes are provided in a zigzag up and down arrangement on the outside of the gap with the net conveyers between them. As a long knitted or woven cloth is passed continuously through the cloth passage while it receives the force of a fluid jetted zigzag from both sides, the cloth adopts a snaky or undulating state, and is stretched, beat and crumpled strongly so that the cloth is untwisted and crimped effectively.

  • Patent number: 4357811
Abstract: A continuous processing apparatus for a hygro-thermic treatment of a fabric material such as a tubular knitted fabric material capable of adequately applying a treating liquid to the fabric material within a high pressure steamer. The liquid to be supplied to the inside of the high pressure steamer is heated to prevent steam within the drum body of the steamer from becoming a drain and to enhance the effect of impregnating the fabric material with the liquid or the effect of preparatory washing. While the fabric material is conveyed within the steamer, it is kept in a suspended state without tension to let it have a good touch and bulkiness.

  • Patent number: 4346503
Abstract: A method including transporting a cloth composed of twisted yarns continuously through a plurality of wet-heat treating chambers, which have a stepwise temperature gradient from 70.degree. C. to 100.degree. C. and are provided with an appropriate impact device to apply beating and rubbing forces to the cloth, in the direction from the low temperature side to the high temperature side of the chambers to de-twist the yarn of the cloth so as to crape the cloth successively. A cloth composed of highly twisted yarns can be advantageously and effectively de-twisted and craped due to the effect of the swelling of the cloth as well as the beating and rubbing forces applied to the cloth in each of the wet-heat treating chambers.

  • Patent number: 4345385
Abstract: For continuously drying a cloth, the cloth is subjected to a drying process in which high pressure dry hot air is jetted against the cloth in a zigzag pattern from both sides thereof while transporting the cloth continuously through a cloth passage. The cloth passage is a gap formed between a pair of horizontally extending parallel endless net conveyors located one above the other. In accordance with the rotation of the two conveyors the cloth is vigorously beat and vibrated as it passes through the gap in a snaky state under no tension to afford drying of the cloth. When the drying process is effected by stepwise lowering the temperature of the cloth, or is repeated by cooling the heated cloth in the open atmosphere, the drying resembles natural drying, preventing the cloth from becoming fragile, and moreover, in particular heat energy is saved. A cloth in a ropy state can also be dried satisfactorily and effectively by inserting a cloth untwisting process and a cloth expanding process prior to drying.

  • Patent number: 4263008
Abstract: A method for continuous weight reduction and mercerization of a cloth material. The cloth material which is impregnated with a caustic liquid is first treated with humid heat in a no tension condition to effect reduction in weight and then the cloth material is brought into frictional contact with friction rolls under the same humid heat to mercerize the cloth material in a continuous manner. The method is carried out within a high pressure steamer drum body in which the high humid heat is maintained. A group of rolls are arranged within the fore half portion of the high pressure steamer drum body to convey the cloth material in the no tension condition. In the hind half of the drum body, there are arranged a group of guide rolls to further convey the cloth material with a predetermined degree of tension applied thereto. Some of the group of guide rolls are driven at a variable speed to bring the cloth material into frictional content with them.
