    Abstract: An apparatus acquires information identifying first-pieces of software that are candidates for installation, and estimates first files to be installed at a time of installation of the first-pieces of software with reference to file-identification information identifying second files that have been installed at a time of installation of second-pieces of software, where the file-identification information is associated with respective ones of the second-pieces of software, and the first files are estimated based on the file-identification information identifying third files that have been installed in connection with third pieces of software related to the first-pieces of software.
