  • Publication number: 20130269857
Abstract: A composition for sealing flooring seams, including a water-based adhesive and a pigmented compound with a viscosity high enough that the composition may be applied vertically without significantly running and low enough that the composition will enter the opening of a seam gap. A method of sealing a seam between adjacent flooring sheets, including dispensing a sealing composition directly on the seam, waiting a sufficient time for the sealing composition to cure, and removing any excess sealing composition so that the filled seam is level with the flooring sheets.

  • Patent number: 5694159
Abstract: In a thermal printer having a printer frame to which the thermal print head is swingable attached and supported on a print head holder, the orientation of the print head with reference to a platen roller is set and the print head is permitted to move with reference to the platen roller without changing their orientations. An engagement pin on the printer frame receives a fourth engaging member on the end of the thermal print head holder. A positioning pin on the print head holder is received in a positioning hole in the print head holder mounting plate. Fixing pins at each side of the first positioning pin are received in fixing holes in the mounting plate and are held there by fixing elements. The engaging pin and engaging member permit the print head holder to move with reference to the platen roller to accommodate different thickness papers.

  • Patent number: 5565905
Abstract: A thermal printer that facilitates thermal print head replacement as well as paper setting and removal. One paper guide for the paper to be printed is fixed to the main frame. Another paper guide is attached by a spring link to the frame for the print head, so that they may rotate together. The other paper guide and the head frame together rotate open to provide access between the paper guides. The head frame is rotatable open further beyond the rotation of the other paper guide to provide access to the print head. A stop on the other paper guide engages the main frame to prevent the further opening rotation of the other paper guide.

  • Patent number: 5427460
Abstract: A label printer for receiving a continuous strip of labels on a backing strip from a label supply and for passing the labels between a thermal first head and a platen roller. A motor connected with the platen roller rotates the platen roller. A peeling rod located past the thermal head in the path of the backing strip about which the strip is sharply deflected for separating the labels from the backing strip. A rotatable presser roller opposite the platen roller and past the peeling rod for pressing the backing strip with the labels now removed against the platen roller, whereby the label strip is driven by the platen roller past the thermal head and the backing strip is driven by the rotation of the platen roller and the cooperating rotation of the presser roll again past the platen roller.

  • Patent number: 4591879
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a winding mechanism for a rolled tape-like web, like a composite label or tag web or a carbon ribbon, for eliminating the slackening or meandering of the web. The web is fed from a feed reel to a take-up reel. The take-up reel drives the feed reel to rotate in a first direction by drawing the web off the feed reel. A belt also connects the take-up reel and the feed reel so that rotation of the take-up reel for winding the web onto it is transmitted by the belt to the feed reel to urge the feed reel to rotate in the direction opposite that direction of rotation of the feed reel for feeding the web off the feed reel. This tightens the web, but it is not a sufficient retarding force to prevent feeding of the web. In one embodiment, the belt connection is by a helical coiled spring belt. A spring-operated brake is positioned at the feed reel or at both of the feed and take-up reels for preventing overrunning of these reels.

  • Patent number: 4557169
Abstract: A continuous tag feeding and cutting apparatus for cutting a continuous tag strip into proper length tags. A first feeding mechanism feeds the strip of tags past the cutting mechanism to a second feeding mechanism, and a sensor halts the first feeding mechanism each time a sufficient length of the tag strip has been fed past the cutting mechanism. The cutting mechanism includes a rotary blade which is driven through one rotation cycle each time a length of tag strip is fed therepast by the first feeding mechanism. A second feeding mechanism located past the cutting mechansim is engaged with the tag strip for feeding a tag cut from the strip during one rotation of the blade to storage after the tag has been cut from the strip. The second feeding mechanism includes a driving roller which is driven to rotate along with the rotary blade and includes a driven roller which is engageable with the driving roller to engage the tag strip.

  • Patent number: 4501224
Abstract: A continuous tag printing apparatus is disclosed wherein a strip of tags is not wasted, and cut tags are easily aligned. The continuous tag printing apparatus has a feed mechanism for feeding the strip, a printing mechanism for printing desired information on the strip, and a mark applying mechanism for applying a mark on a side surface of a portion of the strip, which portion corresponds to a partition tag which indicates a change in printing contents.

  • Patent number: 4480933
Abstract: A guide device for a printing paper strip in a nonimpact printer allows easy and reliable loading of the printing paper strip and may not cause separation of the printing paper strip from conveyor rollers or deviation of a printing position from the normal printing position. The guide device comprises an operation member, a printing paper guide member which is movable between a close position and a separated position with respect to a conveyance path of the printing paper strip in synchronism with operation of the operation member, a platen member for urging the printing paper strip against a printing head, and a link mechanism for moving the platen member between an urging position and a separated position with respect to the printing head in synchronism with the operation of the operation member.
