  • Patent number: 7123386
Abstract: An image reading apparatus of the present invention is provided with a driving unit for supplying a driving force to a scanner module and for supplying a driving force to an ADF. Changeover between the driving force for the scanner module and the driving force for the ADF is carried out by moving the scanner module, where the driving force of the scanner module and the driving force for the ADF are supplied from a single driving force source. A low cost member is used for the changeover of driving force transmission where the same driving force source (motor) supplies necessary driving force for a fed document reading mode and for a stationary document reading mode. This lowers a cost of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5159648
Abstract: An image pickup device for viewing an image on a wall surface includes a mask for defining the extent of the focal plane of a viewed image which will be reproduced by a linear image sensor positioned to scan the masked area. Binary data representative of the scanned image is generated and controls a printer which reproduces the masked portion of the image. The size of the masked image is restored to the full size capability of the printer by a data scaling circuit which precludes the need for utilizing a zoom lens in the image pickup device.

  • Patent number: 5067028
Abstract: An image pickup printing device wherein images such as characters or diagrams written on a board or the like are made incident through a lens, the incidental images are monitored by a view-finder, the thus-monitored images are converted into the information by a one-dimensional image sensor, and the images are printed out by a printer based on informations obtained by the one-dimensional image sensor.
