  • Publication number: 20050232601
Abstract: To record video data or audio data on an optical disc on which a defective area exists, there is a method of determining an allowable number of defects in proportion to a recording size and skipping the defective area to use an adjacent area thereto. This method has a problem that a buffer underflow occurs if the defective area becomes larger. The size of the defective area allowed in a recording area is limited regardless of the size of the recording area, and recording on the optical disc is performed so that a normal area preceding a first defect in the recording area including a file end portion has a predetermined size.

Abstract: To record video data or audio data on an optical disc on which a defective area exists, there is a method of determining an allowable number of defects in proportion to a recording size and skipping the defective area to use an adjacent area thereto. This method has a problem that a time is required to start reproduction if the defective area exists at the top of a file. The size of the defective area allowed in a recording area is limited regardless of the size of the recording area, and recording on the optical disc is performed so that a normal area preceding a first defect in the recording area has a predetermined size.

  • Publication number: 20050219980
Abstract: To record video data or audio data on an optical disc on which a defective area exists, there is a method of determining an allowable number of defects in proportion to a recording size and skipping the defective area to use an adjacent area thereto. This method has a problem that the size of the recording area becomes larger by an equivalent of the skipped defective area so as to take a longer time for recording a file, and so convenience for a user is damaged. The size of the defective area allowed in a recording area is limited regardless of the size of the recording area.

  • Publication number: 20040198753
Abstract: The present invention is directed to methods of treating movement disorders by administering an effective amount of one or more adenosine A2A receptor antagonists to a patient in need thereof. The present invention also provides methods of decreasing the adverse effects of L-DOPA in patients receiving L-DOPA therapy in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. The present invention further provides methods and compositions for treating Parkinson's disease patients with sub-clinically effective doses of L-DOPA by combining L-DOPA treatment with an effective amount of one or more adenosine A2A receptor antagonists (i.e., L-DOPA sparing effect). The present invention further provides methods of effective treatment of Parkinson's disease by co-administering at least one adenosine A2A receptor antagonist, L-DOPA and a dopamine agonist and/or a COMT inhibitor and/or a MAO inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 6449668
Abstract: A controller issues a command to an HDD interface to transfer AV data stored in HDDs to a memory. The HDD interface, in compliance with the command, transfers the AV data stored in the HDDs to a memory mapped on a bus. A memory controller reads the AV data out of the bus, and writes the AV data into the memory. The controller outputs the address of the AV data to be outputted to the memory controller. The memory controller reads out the AV data of the designated address, and outputs them to an AV data output interface. And the AV data output interface outputs the AV data. The controller issues a command to the HDD interface memory to record the AV data stored in the memory into the HDDs. The HDD interface, in compliance with the command, reads the data out of a memory mapped on the bus, and stores them in the HDDs. The memory controller reads the AV data out of the memory, and outputs them to the bus.

  • Patent number: 6292878
Abstract: The present invention relates to a data recorder which chronologically records continuous data such as image data without interruption at high speed, a medium which stores the procedure of recording or reproducing in the data recorder as a program, and a method of accessing the data recorder. In one embodiment, the data recorder is equipped with a group of recording units, and each group unit has a SCSI adaptor and a hard disk. The hard disk is connected to the SCSI bus and the SCSI adaptor is connected to a PCI bus. With this construction, data to be recorded in the data recorder is split into units of a prescribed size and assigned and recorded on the group of recording units so as to utilize a plurality of hard disks as a single logical recording space.

  • Patent number: 6176373
Abstract: An embossed carrier tape capable of accurately accomplishing an automatic inspection of leads or the like of an electronic component by means of a camera. The carrier tape is formed with a plurality of receiving recesses in which electronic components are to be received, respectively. The receiving recesses are each formed at a lower portion of each of side surfaces thereof opposite to leads of the electronic component with an inclined surface. Such construction results in the leads being abutted against the inclined surface, to thereby be subjected to positional regulation if the electronic component is undesirably moved during inspection thereof. This permits a reflected image of the leads from the side surface of the receiving recess to be substantially separated from a directly-viewed image thereof during an inspection of the electronic component by image processing using a camera, to thereby ensure accurate judgment of any defect of the electronic component, such as bending of the leads or the like.

  • Patent number: 6047340
Abstract: A method for transmitting data when a system detects the amount of data which can be transferred, and divides the data to be transferred into a plurality of data blocks to form a list. A transfer device refers to the list and carries out input and output processing between a VTR or a network and a memory. Thus, the data can be efficiently transmitted at high speed with high reliability and independent of system configuration. Additionally, the data can be rearranged in the course of its transmission.
