A method of measurement of a number of nonmetallic inclusions comprising capturing an image of a rectangular fracture surface of a cast sample consisting of an aluminum alloy by a CCD camera or other image capturing means, processing the image captured by the image capturing means for color density, digitalizing the processed image by a predetermined threshold value, and counting the number of pixel clusters of a predetermined size or more, the method characterized by detecting the end edges of the short sides of the rectangular fracture surface before the capturing of its image and automatically setting measurement regions of an area of ¼ to ? of the area of the fracture surface at the two ends of the fracture surface.

    Abstract: There is provided a heating cooking apparatus which can reduce heating and cooking time by reducing the time for raising the temperature of a heating chamber to a desired temperature. Further, a coating film 25 is formed on a side surface on the heat source chamber 30 side of a partition plate 22 which forms a boundary between the heat source chamber 30 and a heating chamber 20. Hereby, the heat supplied from the electric heater 31 is stored in the coating film 25, and next the heat is radiated from the coating film 25, with the result that the coating film 25 heats the air in the heat source chamber 30 as a second heat source.

    Abstract: A preform for a composite material which has high strength and excellent air permeability and hence is applicable to a high-speed die casting method and which is capable of forming a metal composite material having excellent mechanical properties by a high-speed die casting method. Also provided is a process for producing such a preform. Ceramic fibers or/and ceramic particles are mixed with a silica sol and calcium carbonate and sintered at a predetermined temperature to form a calcium/silicon sinter obtained from the silica sol and calcium carbonate. The calcium/silicon sinter coats the ceramic fibers or/and ceramic particles so that a preform having the fibers or/and the particles bound to each other by the calcium/silicon sinter is obtained. The preform for a composite material has high strength and excellent air permeability and is applicable to the high-speed die casting method capable of attaining high productivity.

The extruded EVOH resin is cut into EVOH pellets. Thereby, it is possible to obtain resin pellets in which no spherocrystals are observed in the center of the cross section of the resin when the cross section is observed by the use of a polarization microscope, or no lubricant is contained in the resin pellets, and the angle of repose is 23° or less when the resin pellets are laminated.
