  • Publication number: 20080074692
Abstract: An image forming apparatus comprises: a printing unit which prints an image on a sheet having a non-contact type tag based upon print data, the non-contact type tag stores tag data and transmits/receives the tag data via a wireless communication; a writing unit which stores the tag data in the non-contact type tag; a data forming unit which forms the print data for 1 sheet based upon a print file which requires a plurality of sheets to be printed; and a control unit which controls the printing unit to print on the sheet based upon the print data for 1 sheet formed by the data forming unit, the control unit which controls the writing unit to store file data corresponding to the print data for 1 sheet to be printed in the non-contact type tag of the sheet as the tag data.

  • Publication number: 20080068140
Abstract: An aspect of the invention provides an image forming apparatus including: a image forming section that forms an image based on a print data on at least one sheet equipped with a non-contact tag; a writing section that wirelessly writes a tag data into the non-contact tag of the at least one sheet; a first cassette that holds a plurality of sheets equipped with first type non-contact tags having a first storage capacity; a second cassette that holds a plurality of sheets equipped with second type non-contact tags having a second storage capacity larger than the first storage capacity; and a selecting section that selects a print cassette from among the first and second cassettes based on a data size of the tag data. The at least one sheet on which the image is formed by the image forming section is provided from the print cassette.

  • Patent number: 7103290
Abstract: An apparatus for forming an image is disclosed in which an image is formed on an image-formed medium under an image formation condition; a feature of the image formed on the image-formed medium is measured to thereby obtain measurement results which are stored in a storage medium; at least one of the measurement results which conforms to image data representative of a new image to be formed is retrieved as a reference measurement-result from the storage medium; and the image formation condition for the image data representative of the new image is set based on the retrieved reference measurement-result.

  • Patent number: 6825863
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a photosensitive member, an exposure device having a plurality of laser emitting elements that each irradiate a laser beam onto the photosensitive member to form an elactrostatic latent image on the photosensitive member, a developing device that supplies a developing agent to the electrostatic latent image to form a visible image, and a controller that controls the irradiation of the plurality of laser emitting elements. The controller includes a determining device that determines which laser emitting element from the plurality of laser emitting elements is closest to reaching its end of operating life and a restricting device that restricts the irradiation of the laser emitting element determined closest to reaching its end of operating life.

  • Patent number: 5156385
Abstract: In a printer having a manual sheet feed mechanism and an automatic sheet feed mechanism, when feed rollers of the manual paper feed mechanism are driven, a counter starts to count. At the time when the printing operation is completed, a CPU retrieves a predetermined value corresponding to a sheet length from a table stored in a ROM. The predetermined value represents the time necessary for the printing operation to be completed, with a tolerance. The CPU does not feed the next print sheet until the counter counts up to the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4674055
Abstract: A software vending system comprising a host system including primary memory means for storing a plurality of different software programs, and a plurality of peripheral vending instruments each operatively connected to the host system for interactive data communication therebetween. Each of the peripheral vending instruments includes a selector device for selecting a desired one of the software programs, and a recording device operable to duplicate in a recording medium the selected software program transferred from the primary memory means in response to the operation of the selector device.
