  • Patent number: 7385625
Abstract: A liquid crystal display unit has a transmissive liquid crystal plate having a number of pixels arranged on a two-dimensional basis, on which an image is formed, and a light source unit emitting beams of light of a plurality of luminescent colors for irradiating said liquid crystal plate from back. An interface circuit receives an image signal representative of a color image to sequentially form on said liquid crystal plate a plurality of separation images in which the color image is separated in association with the plurality of luminescent colors of said light source unit. The interface circuit causes said light source unit to flash with a luminescent color associated with a separation image formed on said liquid crystal plate in synchronism with a sequential formation of the separation images onto said liquid crystal plate. Beams of light emanated from the light source unit and transmitted through the liquid crystal plate reproduce an image.

  • Patent number: 6137960
Abstract: A camera has a slide case for covering a taking lens of the camera. The slide case is slidably attached to a camera body and is set at an unused position, a photographing position, a battery exchange position and a cartridge exchange position. When the slide case is set at the cartridge exchange position, a cartridge lid of a cartridge chamber is openable so that a film cartridge is exchangeable. When the slid case is set at the unused position, the photographing position or the battery exchange position, the slide case covers at least a part of the cartridge lid so that it is impossible to open the cartridge lid. A lock mechanism of the cartridge lid is simplified so that the size of the camera may be reduced. A battery chamber for containing a battery is disposed above an exposure aperture and close thereto so that the height of the camera may be lowered.

  • Patent number: 6091902
Abstract: A zoom camera with a pseudo zooming function for assigning a frame a pseudo zoom ratio by which a printing area and a print magnification of the frame are modified to obtain a photo print that looks like being photographed at a virtual focal length that is equal to a multiplication product of the pseudo zoom ratio and an actual focal length of a taking lens used for photographing the frame. A virtual focal length is determined in accordance with operating direction and amount of a manual zooming operation member. A viewfinder is controlled in correspondence with the virtual focal length, to show a photographic field to be contained in a photo print as photographed at the virtual focal length.

  • Patent number: 5488445
Abstract: Standard film packages and telephoto-type film packages and panoramic film packages are produced using the same standardized package bodies which are adapted to photograph full-size frames on 35-mm film. In the factory, each package body is loaded with a photographic film, and indicia of the type of the film package to be produced are provided on the photographic film or a cassette for containing the photographic film, as well as on the film package. When printing a photographic film having been loaded into such a standard film package, substantially the whole area of the full-size frame is printed to make a standard print, whereas printing of photographic films that have been loaded into the telephoto-type film package and the panoramic-type film package is performed such that only a partial area of the full-size frame is printed at different print magnifications which are larger than that used for standard prints.

  • Patent number: 5422694
Abstract: A camera for recording photographing data on a photographic film during one frame advancement of the film. During advancement, an encoded disk rotates with a driven roller in contact with the film. A photo-interrupter generates an ENC pulse each time the encode disk rotates through a predetermined angle, and supplies it to a microcomputer. Each time the microcomputer receives an ENC pulse, it measures a pulse period between a previously generated ENC pulse and presently generated ENC pulse. In accordance with the measured pulse period, a predicated pulse period between the presently generated ENC pulse and a next ENC pulse is calculated. N timings are obtained by dividing the predicted pulse period to record N-bits of data on the film during the predicted period by driving a recording head N times.

  • Patent number: 5227824
Abstract: A camera having a zooming device for controlling the focal length of a zoom lens in response to a zooming signal, and a print aspect ratio designation device for designating an aspect ratio of a photographic print to be made by trimming an original of a constant size. When the print aspect ratio designation device is given priority over the zooming device, the zooming device is activated conjointly with the print aspect ratio designation device, so as automatically to change the focal length of the zoom lens in accordance with the designation aspect ratio. When the zooming device is given priority over the print aspect ratio designation device, the print aspect ratio is automatically changed conjointly with the zooming device, so as to be matched with the selected focal length, independently of the print aspect ratio designated by the print aspect ratio designation device.

  • Patent number: 5223876
Abstract: A photographic film cassette which has not been exposed has its film leader completely housed within the cassette. When a film is rewound after taking photographs, a stop hole in the film is engaged with a stop claw formed on a film passage mouth, so that the film rewinding operation is intercepted, with the film leader being slightly protruded from the cassette shell. A film removing slit is formed in a film feeding slit of a cassette holder of a camera. Therefore, when pulling out the film cassette in the axial direction, the film leader protruded from the cassette is bent and passed through the slit. If an exposed film cassette is attempted to be loaded, the loaded operation is intercepted because the open end of the film removing slit is positioned different from the film feeding slit in the vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 4980711
Abstract: A zoom lens system shifts the position of front and rear lens groups relative to each other in the direction of the optical axis to change its focal length, by moving a lens barrel back and forth in the axial direction. The lens barrel is formed with cutouts in its rear portion for receiving therein parts and elements projecting forwardly from the plane in which an exposure aperture is located when the lens barrel is retracted, so as to reduce the thickness of the camera with the retracted zoom lens. A focal length changing mechanism comprises a fixed cam and a lever attached to the lens barrel which is turned by the cam when the lens barrel moves back and forth to shift one lens group, thereby changing the focal length of the zoom lens to desired focal lengths. To correct the changes in focus of the zoom lens caused by the change of focal length, an adjusting member is provided in the focal length changing mechanism.
