  • Patent number: 8711227
Abstract: Use of a custom insert is obviated when a digital camera is attached to a base (dock). Two movable pins are provided, in such a way that a connector is sandwiched between the movable pins, on a digital camera attachment surface of a base (dock) which provides a digital camera with a recharging function and a printing function. The movable pins fit to holes in a bottom of the digital camera to thus act as guides during the course of attachment of the digital camera. Alternatively, the attachment surface itself may be configured so as to be vertically movable, and the attachment surface may descend during attachment of the digital camera and the attachment surface may be latched in a lower position after attachment of the same.

  • Patent number: 8212475
Abstract: In the photocathode, an underlayer made of a crystalline material containing La2O3 is provided between a supporting substrate and a photoelectron emission layer, and is in contact with the photoelectron emission layer. Therefore, for example, at the time of heat treatment in a manufacturing process of the photocathode, dispersion to the supporting substrate side of an alkali metal contained in the photoelectron emission layer is suppressed. Further, it is assumed that this underlayer functions so as to reverse the direction of, out of photoelectrons e? generated within the photoelectron emission layer, photoelectrons traveling toward the supporting substrate side to the side opposite thereto.

  • Patent number: 4842832
Abstract: Ultra-fine spherical particles of a metal oxide having an average particle diameter of 40 nm or smaller can be prepared by a method in which a vaporizable metal compound is vaporized and decomposed under heating to give ultra-fine particles of a metal oxide followed by immediate cooling down to a temperature at which coalescence of the fine particles are prevented from coalescence. The fine particles have characteristics such as an excellent power of ultraviolet scattering.

  • Patent number: 4654228
Abstract: A process for preparing a ceramic film wherein ultrafine particles of ceramics are produced in a vapor phase, a substrate is kept at a temperature lower than the temperature where the ultrafine particles are produced but high enough to allow the vapor phase reaction to proceed, forming a temperature gradient between the vapor phase and the substrate and thereby to deposit the ultrafine particles onto the substrate by utilizing a thermophoretic phenomenon, and the vapor phase reaction is allowed to continue on the ultrafine particles deposited on the substrate. After the formation of the film, the deposition of the ultrafine particles onto the substrate may be stopped while continuing the vapor reaction in the formed film to prepare a more dense film having reduced voids.
