  • Patent number: 9743192
Abstract: A speaker includes a first vibrator, a first driving unit, a second vibrator, a second driving unit and a supporting unit. The first vibrator is connected to a diaphragm, which vibrates, thereby emitting sound. The first driving unit vibrates the first vibrator, thereby vibrating the diaphragm. The second vibrator is connected to a weight member. The second driving unit is connected to the opposite side of the first driving unit to the first vibrator, and vibrates the second vibrator on the same vibration axis as the vibration axis of the first vibrator, thereby vibrating the weight member. The supporting unit supports a coupled body, configured by joining the second vibrator and the weight member, at two or more portions in the direction of the vibration axis.

  • Patent number: 7499556
Abstract: An integrating apparatus to lower the levels of audio outputs of an on-board audio system immediately upon cessation of a noise level such as when a vehicle comes to a stop. Audio signals from an audio source are amplified through attenuating means by an amplifying means to drive a loudspeaker. An output of a microphone for detecting a noise is inputted to each of two integrating circuits, which have different fall time constants. Outputs of the integrating circuits are applied to a selectively outputting means, which selectively derives an output having a lower level among the outputs of the integrating circuits, and which then supplies the output as a control signal to the attenuating means. When the level of noise is high such as when the vehicle is running, the control signal has a high level and the attenuating means reduces an attenuation. Thus, the output of the audio source may be heard without a drift of the audio signal level.

  • Patent number: 7218740
Abstract: An automotive in-cabin audio system comprising a plurality of speakers installed at different positions in the cabin is disclosed, in which the playback signal from a multichannel player having sources of at least three channels recorded therein is processed in accordance with the position of a listener seated in the cabin thereby to reproduce a sound similar to the original sound at the position of the listener. The signal of the sound reproduced from a speaker far from each seat in the cabin is retrieved as a branch signal and delayed in accordance with the law of the first wave front. At the same time, the level of the particular signal is attenuated to produce a processed sound signal, which is added to the signal of the sound reproduced from the speaker near each seat. As a result, a sound similar to the original sound can be heard at any hearing position in the cabin.

  • Patent number: 7130441
Abstract: A weight is attached to the rear side of a magnetic circuit of a speaker unit. The tip of a boss that projects from the front side of the weight is joined to the rear side of a center pole of the magnetic circuit with a bolt. Even if reactive force that is generated when an electrical signal is converted into mechanical vibration by the magnetic circuit and a voice coil and sound waves are emitted from a vibration plate is transmitted to the magnetic circuit, the vibration of the magnetic circuit is suppressed by the weight. In this manner, sound quality with a good transient characteristic can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7110550
Abstract: The present invention was developed in order to realize a multi-channel sound system wherein appropriate output (balance and fader) control can be conducted without adversely affecting the program contents, and a sound system, which can reproduce a plurality of channel signals including at least left and right front channels and a center channel for forward-placed speakers, comprises a gain controller to control the gain of either left or right channel signal and a gain controller to control the gain of the center channel signal depending on the gain control of the left or right channel signal.

  • Patent number: 6751330
Abstract: A driver unit is fixed to a stand. A front box and a rear box are directly fitted to the stand through a buffer material. A box comes into contact with the driver unit through a buffer material and is fixed to the stand. Therefore, sound of the driver unit is not transmitted to the box and the drop of sound quality of the speaker can be prevented. The driver unit is fixed to the stand at an immovable foundation, and sound energy can be efficiently transmitted from a speaker cone to the air.
