  • Patent number: 6855419
Abstract: This invention attempts to provide a method for producing a DNA chip which can be accomplished in simple steps at a low cost, and wherein use of the resulting DNA chip reduces loss of probes and sample substances in the washing step enabling efficient use of such probe and sample. This invention also attempts to provide a DNA chip produced by such method. Accordingly, a method for producing a DNA chip comprising a substrate and a DNA-binding layer formed on the substrate wherein said DNA-binding layer is a diamond like film having a DNA-binding group is provided, and this method comprises the steps of: reducing pressure of a vacuum chamber to a predetermined degree of vacuum; feeding the chamber with a gas which is the source of said diamond like film; feeding the chamber with a gas which is the source of nitrogen; and forming the diamond like film having a DNA-binding group on the substrate by CVD. Also provided is the DNA chip produced by such method.

  • Publication number: 20050021799
Abstract: The present invention creates a SOAP message without using DOM by generating a body part by sequentially performing such a process of a message as encryption or signing for each piece of the message, generating a header part by using information acquired during the process, and by combining the body part and the header part. The present invention also breaks a SOAP message without using DOM by acquiring header information with parsing a received SOAP message and sequentially performing decode or verification of a signature of a body part according to the header information.

  • Publication number: 20040193885
Abstract: A context manager supports creation, storage and retrieval of data to implement state maintenance in a vault process using “scoping” of multiple levels of storage. A user request is initiated by invoking an URL with embedded Application Domain and Instance Context. The URL request is processed by a Vault Supervisor to obtain a user ID and password to initiate a vault process running in a secure vault for the user. On vault process start up, access to the vault encryption/decryption keys are made available to the request. A global context file stored on disk is decrypted and read in to memory. If the global context file does not exist, a new global context file is created on disk. For each Application Domain, the application context is decrypted and read in to memory. If an application context file does not exist, a new application context file on disk is created based on the request. All Instance Context files are scanned to determine if they have expired.

  • Patent number: 6715073
Abstract: A secure-end-to-end communication system for electronic business system and method of operation, e.g., the Internet, includes a web server—vault controller having personal storage vaults in the controller for users, registration and certification authorities. Each personal vault runs programs on the controller under a unique UNIX user ID. Data storage is provided by the controller wherein the storage is owned by the same user ID assigned to the vault. A registration authority running as a software application in the controller processes requests to issue, renew and revoke digital certificates issued by a certification authority using two pairs of public-private keys. The registration authority interacts with the vault controller to decide whether an applicant qualifies to receive a digital certificate.

  • Publication number: 20030012956
Abstract: This invention provides a polymer thin film which is useful as a substrate for immobilizing a histocompatibility-imparting agent, an immunosuppressive agent, a bioreaction suppressive agent, or the like, and which can be used in imparting biocompatibility; its production method; a binder for a bio chip wherein loss of probe and sample substances in the washing step has been reduced to realize efficient use of such probe and sample; and its production method. In the present invention, the starting material represented by the following structural formula (I) is evaporated and heated to bring the material into monomer form. The material is then introduced into a vacuum deposition chamber maintained at a predetermined degree of vacuum wherein the material is deposited and polymerized on a substrate to obtain the polymer thin film. This polymer thin film is also used in producing the bio chip.

Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine having an exhaust system provided with a catalyst is provided. The control system comprises a catalyst temperature rise accelerating control in which the intake air amount is increased and the ignition timing is retarded according to the engine rotational speed. A transient control from the catalyst temperature rise accelerating control to the normal control, is started when the speed of a vehicle driven by the engine reaches a predetermined vehicle speed or higher during the catalyst temperature rise accelerating control. During the transient control, the intake air amount is gradually reduced and the ignition timing is set according to the vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 6393563
Abstract: A digital signature system that employs a temporary digital ID signed by using a private key, so that the digital ID can be used as a proxy for a specific period of time and for a specific purpose. When a signature is requested by a server application, a user does not use his or her private key, but employs a temporary key generated using the private key. A temporary certificate for the temporary key is signed using the user's private key. The temporary certificate includes information concerning the period of time during which the temporary certificate is valid and information concerning the purpose for which used. Upon receipt of a request from an application that a document be signed, a client transmits to the server a document signed using the temporary key, the temporary certificate and a user's certificate. First, the server examines the signature; second, it determines whether the temporary certificate is still effective, i.e.

  • Publication number: 20020049906
Abstract: The present invention provides digital signature techniques using an information terminal, such as a portable terminal, having limited calculation resources. In one embodiment, a signature demandant generates a document to be signed, and an agent receives this document. The agent generates summary text for this document, and transmits the summary text to a signatory, and the signatory displays the summary text using his or her information terminal. The signatory confirms the contents, employs a private key stored in his or her terminal to sign (encrypt) the summary text. The signatory thereafter transmits a signature value to the agent, who generates a signed document that includes the signature value. Finally, the signature demandant verifies (decrypts) the received signed document using the public key of the signatory and confirms the contents.

  • Patent number: RE37895
Abstract: An evaporative fuel processing system adapted to be capable of detecting abnormality of an evaporative emission control system for storing, in a canister, evaporative fuel from a fuel tank for holding fuel to be supplied to an internal combustion engine, and purging evaporative fuel into the intake system of the engine. A first control valve is arranged across a passage extending between the fuel tank and the canister. A second control valve is arranged across a passage extending between the canister and the intake system of the engine. A third control valve is provided for an air inlet part of the canister communicatable with the atmosphere. Through operating these control valves to open and close them, the evaporative emission control system is negatively pressurized, and abnormality of this system is detected based on the pressure detected in this negatively pressurized state thereof. Timing for carrying out abnormality determination is determined depending on conditions of the fuel tank.
