  • Patent number: 7514154
Abstract: A resin-coated steel plate obtained by providing, on at least one surface of the steel plate, (i-1) an alloy layer of iron and at least one metal selected from tin, zinc and nickel or (i-2) a tin-plated layer containing tin in an amount of not smaller than 0.5 g/m2, (ii) a silane coupling agent-treated layer, and (iii) a thermoplastic polyester resin layer in this order from the side of the steel plate. Despite not containing chromium, the resin-coated steel plate exhibits excellent work adhesion properties between the steel blank and the organic resin film even when the thickness is reduced due to a severe working and even at portions subjected to severe working such as flanging and necking. By press-forming the resin-coated steel plate, there are obtained cans featuring excellent corrosion resistance and being adapted to containing even highly corrosive contents.

  • Patent number: 5112695
Abstract: For the easily openable metal vessel lids openable by severing the scope with the aid of an opening piece, the formation of pinholes and/or cracks can be prevented, the corrosion resistance of the vessel lids as a whole (including the scored part) is improved, and the openability can be markedly improved by lessening the force required to open the vessel lids and, furthermore, feathering can be prevented by limiting the X-ray diffraction intensity ratio of the biaxially drawn polyester film provided onto at least the interior side of the vessel to within the range of from 4 to 17 and also by limiting the anisotropy index of in-plane crystal orientation to 30 or less.

  • Patent number: 5100017
Abstract: Disclosed is a packing can having a circumferential polyhedral wall formed on a can barrel, in which as compared with boundary ridgelines of structural unit faces of the polyhedral wall and crossing points of these boundary ridgelines, the structural unit faces are convex to the interior of the can and the structural unit faces are arranged so that adjacent rows of structural unit faces have a phase difference in the axial direction of the can. This packing can has a very high strength against deformation by application of the external pressure. Furthermore, in preparing this packing can, damage of a coating layer formed on a metal sheet used as the can barrel blank can be effectively prevented.
