  • Patent number: 7379479
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method to remove delay fluctuations generated on a plurality of networks. A reception apparatus 22 receives ATM cells transmitted through a network 4-1 and a network 4-2, converting the cells into a transport stream. At that time, the reception apparatus 22 expresses a PCR packet's timing of arrival at the reception apparatus 22 by a count value obtained as a result of counting the number of clock pulses (clock pulses Nr) synchronous with a network clock signal of the network 4-2. The reception apparatus 22 also computes a new PCR value W on the basis of the count value and the phase-difference information used as synchronization information. The reception apparatus 22 then computes a new PCR value X on the basis of an original PCR value E recorded from the beginning on the encoding side and the PCR value W, newly recording the PCR value X.

  • Publication number: 20040165306
Abstract: A pair of reels of a magnetic cassette tape and a pair of reel supports of a magnetic tape drive comprise a conductive material as an antistatic treatment. Further, a head substrate and a projection substrate of a head drum comprise a conductive material having a resistance of 1×1010 &OHgr; or less and are connected to a metal base so as to be at the ground potential via the metal base and a rotating drum. These antistatic treatments allow static electricity charged on a magnetic tape to be discharged to the head substrate and the protection substrate without flowing to a magneto-resistive (MR) element, thereby preventing the electrostatic discharge breakdown of the MR element.

  • Patent number: 6307711
Abstract: A disc cartridge mounted for movement on a main cartridge body unit housing a magnetic disc, in which the disc cartridge has a shutter member of a U-shaped cross-section for opening/closing a recording/reproducing aperture provided in the main cartridge body unit. The shutter member is provided with first and second guide pieces engaging in the movement guide groove provided in the main cartridge body unit. On a lateral side of the main cartridge body unit 4, there are formed first and second inclined guide portions for guiding in the movement guide groove the first and second pieces provided in the shutter member. One of the first and second guide pieces is of a height larger than the other guide piece so that, when the shutter member is mounted on the main cartridge body unit, the guide pieces are prevented from being abutted against the lateral side of the main cartridge body unit to suppress generation of chips from the main cartridge body unit.

  • Patent number: 6307713
Abstract: A center core for a disc-shaped recording medium. The center core comprises a flange section for supporting the disc-shaped recording medium. A generally cylindrical section having a bottom wall is formed integral with and located radially inward of the flange section. A plurality of supportable standard sections are formed at the bottom wall of the cylindrical section by making a press working on the bottom wall of the cylindrical section in a manner to project toward the lower surface side of the center core. The supportable standard sections define a supportable surface through which the center core is placed on a turn table of a disc drive device.

  • Patent number: 6199689
Abstract: A cartridge holder is shown which comprises a back portion which has at an inner surface a plurality of cartridge gripping parts by which one sides of cartridges are gripped, a pair of lid portions which are pivotally connected to opposed sides of the back portion through respective major hinge portions; catching and caught portions which are provided at free ends of the lid portions and lock the lid portions when the lid portions are pivoted toward their closed position; and a plurality of extra hinge portions which are defined by the back portion. By roundly flexing the back portion at the major hinge portions, the cartridge gripping parts, that is, the cartridges gripped by these cartridge gripping parts are opened like a fan. Thus, upper ends of the cartridges are separated thereby facilitating handling of the upper ends of the cartridges by the fingers of a user.
