  • Publication number: 20070005241
Abstract: An on-vehicle information terminal includes a current position detection unit that detects the current position of the subject vehicle, a route setting unit that sets a route from the current position of the subject vehicle detected by the current position detection unit to a destination and a display control unit that displays at a display device an enlarged map around the next guidance-requiring intersection on the route having been set by the route setting unit. The display control unit displays the enlarged map by displaying the current position and the next guidance-requiring intersection in a single screen at the display device and rendering the route between the two points as a straight line.

  • Publication number: 20060277497
Abstract: A cellular phone does not store information unnecessary for displaying a screen and fits a screen display request including an identifier of a screen to be displayed next to a server apparatus. In response to the screen display request, the server apparatus reads a display information file including screen elements for configuring the screen from a database and sends the file to the cellular phone. The cellular phone generates a screen using the screen elements included in the display information file and displays the generated screen on a display device. The display information file is prepared as one file for each screen displayed on the cellular phone. The file includes information of all screen elements necessary for the screen and does not include information of any screen elements unnecessary for the screen.

  • Publication number: 20060092179
Abstract: A navigation apparatus includes a route searching unit that searches for a plurality of routes from a departure point to a destination and a map display control unit that displays a map of the plurality of routes searched out by the route searching unit upon a display monitor, and, if any two or more among the plurality of routes overlap upon and pass along a same road, the map display control unit displays the overlapping portions as shifted.

  • Patent number: 6980214
Abstract: A dummy object is generated by copying an object. A color of the dummy object is set to be brighter than the object and the position of the dummy object is finely adjusted. After that, the object and the dummy object are drawn using the Z sort method. Polygons of the object are added to a sort table as usual, whereas polygons of the dummy object are added to the sort table after such a shift of the first address of the sort table as to locate them behind their actual depth value with respect to the view point. Since the polygons are drawn from the farthest polygon from the view point in the sort table, the object is drawn over the dummy object. In the last stage the dummy object remains only in the part projecting outside the object and the part is drawn in a brighter color than the object.

  • Patent number: 6937241
Abstract: An electronic comic including at least one frame on each page, each of the frames having a balloon portion displaying words and a frame image, is viewed on a screen of a display device. The balloon portion and the frame image are stored as image data, and words displayed in the balloon portion are displayed as text data separately from the image data.

  • Patent number: 6879909
Abstract: A map information update system has: a map display control apparatus; and a map information update apparatus. The map display control apparatus includes a map display control unit, a communication control unit, a map information transmission unit and a map information reception unit. The map display control unit controls the display device so as to update the map displayed on the display device based upon the updated information related to the map. The map information update apparatus includes a communication control unit, a map information update reception unit, a map display update data base unit, and an updated map information transmission unit that transmits information related to the map updated by the map information update unit to the map display control apparatus via the communication control unit.

  • Patent number: 6618055
Abstract: A method of image processing where a location of a three-dimensional object to be displayed by a quadrilateral polygon is displayed as a natural concave/convex shape and thereby the mode of change of the form of the three-dimensional object is displayed without a strange feeling, includes drawing and recording a quadrilateral polygon designated for division. The method also includes provisionally dividing that quadrilateral polygon into two triangular planes by a separating line connecting two facing vertexes, and judging if the two triangular planes form a convex shape facing the outside of the three-dimensional object. The method also includes dividing the quadrilateral polygon by that provisional division pattern if forming a convex shape, and dividing the quadrilateral polygon by another division pattern using a separating line connecting the remaining two vertexes if forming a concave shape so that the two triangular planes form a convex shape facing the outside of the three-dimensional object.

  • Publication number: 20010017629
Abstract: A contour-drawing object is generated in the size greater than a corresponding object (S35, S37). The color of the contour-drawing object is set to a contour color (S39). Then the object and contour-drawing object are drawn by the Z sort method. For drawing them, polygons of the object are added to a sort table as usual, while polygons of the contour-drawing object are added to the sort table after such a shift of the first address of the sort table that the contourdrawing object is located behind the object in the actual depth with respect to the view point (S45). Since the polygons are drawn in order from the most distant polygon in the sort table from the view point, the object is written over the contour-drawing object. Finally, there remains only the contour part of the contour-drawing object surrounding the entire edge of the object, outside the object and the contours are drawn in the contour color.
