Abstract: An apparatus and a method for playing back selectively a desired part of continuous data by using an input event as a clue. The apparatus comprises: first storage means for storing continuous data sequentially inputted; second storage means for storing a plurality of input events occurring at arbitrary times during the continuous data sequence; third storage means for storing data enabling identity of addresses a in the first storage means of locations in the continuous data sequence respectively corresponding to the input events; specifying means for specifying one of the input events stored in the second storage means; and playback means for playing back a selected portion of the continuous data stored in the first storage means in accordance with the identifying data stored in the third storage means which corresponds to the input event specified through the specifying means.

Abstract: A treating method for improving the strength of molded products. Molded products of a thermosetting resin containing a phenol resin as a main component are taken out of a mold of an injection molding machine, and then immediately immersed in water or exposed to blown air. With this treatment, the breaking strength, particularly the toughness of the molded products is increased. This method provides molded products having a large strength at room temperature as well as at temperatures around 120.degree. C.
Abstract: A data retrieval system capable of carrying out the retrieval using the secondary information of the primary data to be retrieved such as environmental information or structural information as the retrieval key. In the system, the primary data which are filing target to be stored and retrieved are stored in a first memory while secondary information associated with the primary data, which are not directly related with data content of the primary data, are stored in a second memory in correspondence to the primary data stored in the first memory. Then, when a retrieval key specifying a desired retrieval of the primary data from the first memory is entered, the secondary information is selected from the second memory in accordance with the retrieval key, and the primary data corresponding to the secondary information selected in accordance with the retrieval key is retrieved and outputted as a retrieval result.
Abstract: A multiplex transmission system includes a number of multiplex transmission devices connected to each other via a common transmission line for transmitting frames of data. Each frame of data includes a string of bits. The number of multiplex transmission devices includes a first multiplex transmission device having a first communication controller, the first communication controller transmitting a first frame of data at predetermined intervals of time while changing a predetermined bit of data in the first frame; and a second multiplex transmission device having a second communication controller, the second communication controller transmitting a second frame of data to the first multiplex transmission device in response to one of (i) a change in input data from an external equipment, and (ii) a change in the predetermined bit of the first frame when the first frame is received by the second multiplex transmission device from the first multiplex transmission device.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for multi-window display with enhanced window manipulation facilities. In the apparatus, window images to be displayed in multi-window display are stored in a bit map memory. Various image processing operations are performed on the window images stored in the bit map memory, by regarding the window images as graphic images. Appropriate sections of processed window images are transferred to a frame buffer by using a bit block transfer device, and the image in the frame buffer is displayed on a display device.
Abstract: A parallel-accessible memory device of one or multiple dimensions has submemories for the respective dimensions. Each of the submemories has a capacity provided by dividing the total memory capacity by positive integers given for the respective dimensions. The memory device comprises an address converting section for generating addresses of the submemories of the respective dimensions according to dimensional addresses; a data rearranging section for rearranging input and output data of the submemories in a required order, the input and output data being specified by the submemory addresses from the address converting section; and a write controlling section for selectively renewing data in a region of the submemories of the respective dimensions.
Abstract: A D.C. voltage is applied between an anode terminal and stem pins of a cathode ray tube, using the anode terminal as a negative terminal to cause cathode spot at an edge of an internal electric conductive film of the cathode ray tube. Thus, the edge of the internal electric conductive film is so conditioned that the dielectric breakdown strength of a glass neck tube of the cathode ray tube is graded up.
