  • Patent number: 7106768
Abstract: The laser light generator control circuit comprises a load section, a control section, a bias current circuit section, and a modulation current circuit section. The load section generates a monitor voltage V1 that corresponds to the optical current corresponding to the amount of light received by a monitor light receiving element for receiving light from the laser light generator. The control section selects a combination (Db, Dm) in accordance with the result of comparing a value corresponding to the monitor voltage V1, and a reference value, from a group of combinations (Db, Dm)n that comprises a plurality of combinations (Db, Dm) of a value Db that corresponds to the bias current and a value Dm that corresponds to the modulation current, these combinations being specified so that the light emission power and the extinction ratio are constant, and generates a first control signal V2 and a second control signal V3 on the basis of the selected combination (Db, Dm).

  • Publication number: 20060056863
Abstract: A developing apparatus is provided in which a replenishment developer when replenished has been electrified to a sufficient extent and can immediately produce an effect of replenishment, with a small consumption of a carrier. In an developing apparatus 100 of the present invention, by means of a first and a second agitation and conveyance screw 21, 22 arranged in an upper space 13 and a lower space 14, respectively, a first two-component developer LT stored in the spaces is agitated and conveyed, so that it is supplied to a developing roller 20 so as to perform development processing of an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member. This developing apparatus replenishes a second two-component developer HT stored in a cartridge 30 into a first two-component developer LT in the spaces in an appropriate manner in accordance with the progress of the development process, so that a component composition of the first two-component developer can be kept within a prescribed range.

  • Publication number: 20060002722
Abstract: A device for detecting a life of a developer that is used in an image forming apparatus includes a sensor that detects a toner density of the developer and provides an output. The device also includes a control unit, coupled to the sensor, that is configured to determine a toner density recovery time, the toner density recovery time being a length of time from a first time that a new toner source is added to the image forming apparatus to a second time that the sensor output reaches a predetermined value. The control unit determines whether the developer has reached a predetermined replacement point based on the toner density recovery time.

  • Publication number: 20050281514
Abstract: The present invention is to provide an intelligent pluggable transceiver improving an EMI tolerance with a simple mechanism. The optical transceiver of the invention comprises upper and lower housings (11, 12), a holder (81), optical assemblies (51, 61), a cover (14), a substrate (15) and a grip (13). The optical assemblies are fixed with the upper and lower housings together with the holder with interposing the conductive elastic member. Although the rear end of the substrate exposes outside the transceiver, the shield gasket and the ground pattern on the substrate shields the contact portion between the substrate and the upper housing and between the substrate and the cover. Moreover, the grip and the latch lever installed in the lower housing, and the elastic piece realize the latching/releasing mechanism of the transceiver with the host system.

Abstract: A laser diode control circuit comprises a load portion, a control portion, a bias current circuit portion, and a modulation current circuit portion. The load portion generates a signal V1 which corresponds to a photocurrent corresponding to an amount of light received in a monitoring photodetector for receiving light from a laser light generating portion. The control portion generates first and second control signals V2, V3 from a value Db, a value Dm, an amount of change &Dgr;Dm, and an amount of change &Dgr;Db. The amount of change &Dgr;Dm is generated using a function f(Db,&Dgr;Db)=&Dgr;Dm which is defined such that the light emission power and the extinction ratio become constant. The first control signal V2 is generated from &Dgr;Db and Db in order to modify a bias current Ib, whereas the second control signal V3 is generated from values corresponding to &Dgr;Dm and Dm in order to modify a modulation current Im.
