  • Patent number: 4764496
Abstract: A thermal transfer recording medium having an improved hot-sticking resistance which comprises a thermoplastic resin film as a substrate, a thermally transferable ink layer provided on one surface of the film, and a thin layer of an inorganic substance provided on the other surface of the film. The thin layer of the inorganic substance prevents the recording medium from hot-sticking phenomenon, whereby a high speed printing is made possible.

  • Patent number: 4687680
Abstract: A stamping foil which comprises a flexible supporting web, a lubricating layer provided on substantially whole one surface of the supporting web, a colored water-resistant resinous layer having a desired pattern and a metal deposition layer having a desired pattern provided on the lubricating layer, and an adhesive layer provided in a manner that all of the exposed surfaces of the lubricating layer, of the colored water-resistant resinous layer and/or of the metal deposition layer are covered by the adhesive layer. The stamping foil has an advantage that even a complicated combined pattern of the colored layer and the metal deposition layer can be obtained by a single operation with ease and low cost.

  • Patent number: 4100317
Abstract: A metal leaf comprising (1) a resinous layer having a thickness of 0.35 to 1.mu., (2) a deposition layer, made of a metal selected from the group consisting of gold, silver, aluminum and copper, having a thickness of 0.03 to 0.1.mu., and (3) a resinous layer having a thickness of 0.35 to 1.mu.; which being integrated in order of (1), (2) and (3) and having a thickness of 0.73 to 2.1.mu. and a tensile strength of 0.01 to 1.4 kg./mm.sup.2. It has the same characteristics as those of a conventional metal leaf by handicrafting, and is produced by providing the metal leaf on a base film, elongating the base film to peel out of the leaf and recovering.

  • Patent number: 3962397
Abstract: A process for preparing a reflexible pigment consisting of a metal deposition layer and resinous coating layer on at least one side thereof and having a length and width of 0.1 to 500 .mu., a thickness of 0.1 to 4 .mu. and a true specific gravity of 1 to 2, which is characterized by providing on a base film a metal leaf consisting of a metal deposition layer and a resinous coating layer on at least one side thereof, peeling the metal leaf out of the base film by elongating the base film and crushing up the metal leaf. According to the process, a reflexible pigment in a dry state can be prepared with a remarkable simplicity and a high efficiency. The coating composition including the pigment prepared by the process has improved properties such as beautifulness, reflection property, application property, weather-proofing and abrasion resistance, and is useful for printing ink, writing ink or paint.

  • Patent number: 3935334
Abstract: A process for providing a margin in a metallized resin film for a condenser element which is characterized by providing on a dielectric resinous layer a water-soluble coating layer having a pattern corresponding to a margin pattern, providing a metal deposition layer on the resinous layer including a coated part and a non-coated part and removing the water-soluble coating layer and the metal deposition layer thereon by washing with water. According to the process, a metallized resin film having an arbitrary margin pattern and a superior electrical property can be readily obtained, with completely eliminating any complexity of the procedure and disadvantage in conventional processes for providing a margin.
