  • Publication number: 20060062441
Abstract: A profile generation device obtains image data including information on pixel locations each indicating a location of a pixel, and extracts a location as an extraction point from the image data, the location being correlated with a predetermined color value to be used for generating a profile. The profile generation device performs a color measurement on an output image, and detects a location in the output image and a colorimetric value of the location, then generates data to be used for generating the profile from a pair of the color value correlated with the extraction point and the colorimetric value correlated with the location in the output image, wherein the location corresponds to the extraction point. Consequently, the profile generation device generates the profile by using the generated data.

  • Patent number: 6836191
Abstract: A voltage controlled oscillator includes a resonant circuit which is connected with an active circuit. In the resonant circuit, a variable capacitance diode is connected with a resonator via a transmission line, and a capacitive circuit is connected in parallel with the variable capacitance diode. By setting the length of the transmission line to an appropriate value ranging from, for example, about one quarter to about one half of the wavelength of the resonant frequency, the frequency change width can increase, while maintaining the frequency linearity because of connection of the capacitive circuit.

  • Patent number: 6798625
Abstract: The present invention provides a spin-valve magnetoresistance sensor in which are formed, on top of the substrate, free layers, and pinned layers, enclosing a nonmagnetic spacer layer, and an antiferromagnetic layer adjacent to the pinned layers. The sensor is also equipped with a back layer including at least two nonmagnetic metal layers adjacent to the free layers on the side of the free layers opposite the nonmagnetic spacer layer. The back layer has at least one nonmagnetic metal layer of Cu with high electrical conductivity, preferably formed adjacent to the free layers, as for example in a two-layer structure of Cu and Ru or a three-layer structure Ru/Cu/Ru. In addition to a high read output, fluctuations in Hint with the film thickness of the back layer can be suppressed and sensor characteristics stabilized, and high recording densities can be realized.

  • Patent number: 6762650
Abstract: A high-frequency oscillation circuit includes a resonance circuit and an active circuit. The active circuit includes a field-effect transistor and a capacitor. An impedance-conversion circuit including a high-impedance line, a capacitive stub, and a connecting line such as wire, is connected between the active circuit and the resonance circuit. Accordingly, the impedance-conversion circuit can convert the characteristic impedance of the resonance circuit so that the absolute value of the reflection coefficient of the active circuit increases. As a result, the oscillation conditions can be easily fulfilled.

  • Patent number: 6697218
Abstract: Shock-absorbing material made from a mixture of solid particles and viscous elastic material is arranged at the periphery of an information storage and retrieval device. When an external shock is applied to the device, the shock-absorbing material is greatly deformed and dissipates the shock energy by inner friction sufficiently to prevent damage to the inner mechanism of the device. The deformed shock-absorbing material can be restored to the original shape so that it is repeatedly usable. Furthermore, by comparing the deformed shape and the quick reference table provided with the device, the amount shock acceleration can be roughly determined. The device conforms to one of a series of dimensional standards for information storage and retrieval devices.

  • Publication number: 20030179712
Abstract: The quality and performance of the connectionless communications system are improved. When a BOM is received, the destination address DA of the L3-PDU stored in the payload of the BOM is retrieved, and the tag information is obtained from the DA (S11). The output message identifier MID is reserved (S12), and the tag information and output MID are assigned to the BOM (S13). Then, the tag information and output MID are written to the table. When a COM is received, the tag information and output MID are retrieved using the MID of the COM as a key, and the information is provided for the COM (S31 and S32). When an EOM is received, the tag information and output MID are retrieved using the MID of the EOM as a key, and the information is provided for the EOM (S41 and S42). Then, the output MID is released (S43).

  • Patent number: 6580343
Abstract: A dielectric waveguide designed to avoid the influence of reflection of electromagnetic waves at connected portions of dielectric strips and to have an improved characteristic. The distance L between connection planes between pairs of dielectric strips adjacent in the direction of propagation of an electromagnetic wave is set to an odd number multiple of ¼ of the guide wavelength. Reflected waves are thereby superposed in phase opposition to each other to cancel out. In this manner, propagation of a reflected signal to ports is limited.
