  • Patent number: 6905558
Abstract: A billet produced by continuous casting having little central segregation, in particular a billet of high carbon steel produced by continuous casting, and a manufacturing method therefor are provided. In the continuous casting billet, the size of the dendritic equiaxed crystal in a billet central portion is reduced to be not more than 6 mm. For this purpose, electromagnetic stirring is performed so that the inclining angle of the primary dendrite within 10 mm of a billet surface layer is increased to be not less than 10°. Furthermore, the mechanical soft reduction is performed during continuous casting so that the diameter of the center porosity in the billet central portion is reduced to be not more than 4 mm. Thereby, in particular in the manufacturing of the continuous casting billet having a carbon content of not less than 0.

  • Patent number: 4897133
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an embossed pattern in a base material comprises the steps of forming an embossed portion in the base material; cutting the embossed portion by using a cutter and a controller for three-dimensionally controlling the relative position between the cutter and the base material; and forming a predetermined embossed pattern in the base material. A method for manufacturing embossed patterns comprises the steps of holding processing data per each of the embossed patterns; and processing the embossed patterns by continuously connecting the processing data to each other sequentially. A method for manufacturing embossed patterns comprises the steps of dividing processing data of the patterns into left and right sections with respect to each of the patterns to process the patterns left and right; providing the same number of upper and lower processing lines with respect to the patterns; and continuously processing portions between the patterns.

  • Patent number: 4855578
Abstract: When fixed data common to IC cards is written in an unpersonalized IC card, a key card and a fixed data card holding fixed data common to the IC cards are used. When data read/write access is performed among the key and fixed data cards and the unpersonalized IC card, the fixed data is written in the unpersonalized IC card. The data read/write access among the key and fixed data cards and the unpersonalized IC card is performed by a microprocessor and a read/write controller. The data read/write access among the key and fixed data cards and the unpersonalized IC card can be performed without going through a host processor.

  • Patent number: 4483124
Abstract: A sheet-like material processing apparatus is provided with a pre-processing section and a post-processing section. In the pre-processing section, the sheet-like material set in the supply section is taken out sheet by sheet and those taken-out ones are sorted, by an inspecting device, into at least two kinds of sheet-like material. A transfer/sorting device physically sorts those sheet-like material on the basis of the sorting by the inspection device. The sorted sheet-like material are separately collected each for a given number of the sheet-like material by a sorting and collecting device, and then are bundled by a sheet bundling device. A transfer device transfers the given number of the bundled sheet-like material. Of those sheet-like material transferred by said transfer device, the unreusable ones are invalidated by an invalidating device.

  • Patent number: 4465192
Abstract: Paper sheets, which are loaded in a supply section without any regard to which direction their first or second surface is facing, are supplied to a detecting section for checking as to whether the first surface is facing in a preselected direction and also for identifying the kind of paper sheet. The paper sheets supplied with their first surface facing in the preselected direction are sorted and stacked in first stacking sections in accordance with the kind of paper sheet. The paper sheets of all kinds supplied with their second surface facing in the preselected direction are stacked in a single second stacking section. Each of the paper sheets stacked in the second stacking section are supplied with their first surfaces facing in the preselected direction to the detecting section, again for identification of the kind, once again.

  • Patent number: 4462506
Abstract: A bill packet discharging apparatus is disclosed, in which bill packets can be automatically supplied to an outlet from a bill packet storage section in which bill packets are accommodated in a stacked form. Bill packets can be successively fed out from the lowermost bill packet in the stack in the storage section to a transport path by a bill packet feeding mechanism. When the bill packet being fed out is a defective bill packet with the band thereof broken so that the bills are released, this state is detected optically, and the defective bill packet is automatically collected in a recovery section.

  • Patent number: 4458816
Abstract: The thin sheet sorting apparatus includes a supply device for supplying, one after one, the thin sheets to be sorted. A detecting device classifies the thin sheets into one of normal sheets, improper sheets and damaged sheets. A sorting device directs the improper sheets to a first conveying passageway, and the damaged sheets and the normal sheets to a second conveying passageway, respectively. A counting circuit counts the number of thin sheets guided to the first and second conveying passageways. The supply device supplies the thin sheets in discrete units each containing a predetermined number and the counting circuit counts the number of the sheets sorted for each predetermined number, thus confirming the predetermined number.

  • Patent number: 4406728
Abstract: This invention discloses apparatus for binding an article, such as a pack of bank notes, with a tape in a binding position. For this purpose, with rotation of a rotating member, the tape is supported by tape loop supporting pins and is wound to form a loop before a binding operation. The article is pushed into the loop and pressed before the tape is wound around the article. The tape supporting pins are retracted to disengage from the loop. The tape is drawn in a direction opposite to the supplying direction so as to be wound tightly around the article, and the trailing end of the tape is cut. The cut end of the tape is adhered to an adjacent portion of the tape. In this manner, tape binding is completed.

  • Patent number: 4404723
Abstract: A band-removing apparatus for taking off a band wound about a paper sheet bundle. One end portion of a paper sheet bundle brought to a band-removing section by transport means is clamped in a vertical direction by a pair of clamping members, thereby causing the paper sheet bundle to be bent downward. Part of a band is stretched over the concave portion of the bent paper sheet bundle in the form of a chord. A hooking member catches said chord portion of the band. When the hooking member holding said chord portion of the band is rotated crosswise of the transport passage, then the band is pulled off from the paper sheet bundle. The removed band is let to fall into a receptacle disposed on one lateral side of the transport passage.

  • Patent number: 4402410
Abstract: Apparatus for sorting sheets from a stack. A take-out device is provided for drawing sheets from the stack one at a time. These sheets are transferred to an inspecting station which classifies the sheets and sorts them into reusable sheets and unreusable sheets. The reusable sheets are bundled. The unreusable sheets are first collected until the entire stack of sheets has been processed. Only then are the collected unreusable sheets automatically invalidated.

  • Patent number: 4369088
Abstract: This invention discloses an apparatus for binding in cross shape an article such as a pack of bank notes with an elongate binding material such as a tape in a binding position. First, the article arranged in a first direction is pushed in the binding position and the article is then bound with the binding material. The trailing end of the binding material is cut and adhered to an adjacent surface of the binding material. When the first binding operation is completed, the bound article is removed from the binding position, being turned through 90 degrees in a manner to be arranged in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The article thus returns to the initial position. The article is pushed again in the binding position. Second binding is performed, accomplishing binding in cross shape.
