Abstract: A compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein X.sup.1 is a group of one of the following formulae (1), (2) and (3): ##STR2## R.sup.1 is a branched long chain alkyl group, R.sup.2 is --CONHR.sup.3, a carboxyl group or a hydrogen atom, n is an integer of 0, 1 or 2, and R.sup.3 is a lower alkyl group or a phenyl group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which is useful as a selectin inhibitor, and can be used in the prophylaxis or treatment of various inflammatory diseases such as inflammatory dermatitis (e.g., atopic dermatitis, contact hypersensitivity, photodermatosis, etc.), autoimmune chronic diseases (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, chronic thyroiditis, etc.), and ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Abstract: A monoclonal antibody against a procollagenase with a molecular weight of 52000 whose corresponding collagenase cleaves Type I, Type II and Type III collagens, the monoclonal antibody being characterized in, (a) that it belongs to the immunoglobulin class and subclass of G.sub.1 and its L-chain isotype is kappa, and, (b) that it has an inhibitory activity on the collagenase that cleaves Type I, Type II and Type III collagens, and a method for the assay of procollagenase by enzymeimmunoassay utilizing thereof.

Abstract: An anti-human papillomavirus (HPV) monoclonal antibody reactive with various types of HPVs, which is produced by a hybridoma comprising a fused cell of a mouse spleen cell from a mouse immunized with an alkali-treated HPV type 1 (HPV-1) and a mouse myeloma cell, and which is reactive with polypeptides of about 57 kilodaltons, about 160 kilodaltons and about 230 kilodaltons of HPV-1, and a process for preparing the same. The monoclonal antibody of the invention is reactive with various types of HPV and useful for diagnosis of various types of HPV infection (primary diagnosis).
