  • Patent number: 5422773
Abstract: In order to prevent drop-out in recording and reproducing, a cassette back lid is constituted by a first swing plate having a first engagement member engageable with a first cam surface, and a second swing plate having a second engagement member engageable with a second cam surface. The first swing plate is urged by torsion springs, in the lid opening direction. Therefore, a rotational operation of a cassette front lid in the lid opening direction causes the first swing plate to swing in the lid opening direction, and the second swing plate to swing in the lid opening direction, independently of the swing motion of the first swing plate, that is, the first and second swing plates swing relative to each other and also relative to the front lid in response to the swinging movements of the front lid between its opened and closed positions.

  • Patent number: 5218483
Abstract: An objective lens moving apparatus, wherein a pole, which is set upright on a base and supports an objective lens, is fitted with some eccentricity into a hole of a lens holder which holds the objective lens and can be freely turned and slid. The lens holder is elastically supported on the base by an elastic member. In this objective lens moving apparatus, the pole is fitted into the hole of the lens holder opposingly to an elastic force of the elastic member, and the inner face of the hole of the lens holder is always pressed against the pole. Accordingly, the axis of the hole, namely, the optical axis of the objective lens the axis of the pole are always kept almost parallel to each other.

  • Patent number: 5148089
Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling the velocity of a motor controls the motor by fuzzy inferential reasoning in a transitional period when the motor is started, changed in speed, reversed or stopped. Such fuzzy control eliminates an increase in the length of the transitional period caused by a limitation in supply current under conventional PLL control and makes possible a rapid transition to a target velocity. A plurality of fuzzy rules are provided and one of these fuzzy rules is selected in accordance with the length of the previous transitional period, thereby suppressing the effects of load fluctuation and the influence of a fluctuation in torque caused by a rise in temperature. Therefore, the length for transitional control of a motor can be shortened and the apparatus can be reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 4879645
Abstract: An IC card comprises CPU, PROM for storing programs, and RAM for storing the results of arithmetic operations. PROM stores a table on which the names of specific programs are registered. RAM has execution counters which counts up each time each program is run so that the number of times the specific program is run is memorized. Prior to the running of each program by CPU, it is judged whether or not the program is a specific one. If it is the specific program, the execusion counter counts up. When the count value of the execution counter is above a predetermined value, the running of the specific program is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4796248
Abstract: A tracking error signal is generated by a far field system utilizing light for writing and reading of data. The true tracking error signal is retrieved from this tracking error signal by removing the position fluctuation component in the direction of tracking of the objective lens. A holding member that is supported on a frame and holds the objective lens is driven in the tracking direction in accordance with this true tracking error signal. In order to detect position fluctuation in the tracking direction of the objective lens, the light for position detection that is output from the holding member is detected by a photodetector fixed on a cover. The mounting position of the cover with respect to the frame is adjustable by rotating the cover, using the guide part formed on the frame.

  • Patent number: 4771460
Abstract: A data processing terminal device is on-line connected to a host computer and records on journal paper journal data obtained as a result of communication with the host computer. Data is encrypted, and encrypted data is exchanged between the terminal device and the host computer. The encrypted journal data received by the terminal is decrypted and printed on a journal paper, then modified and stored in a PROM. • Patent number: 4757543
Abstract: A data processing terminal device is on-line connected to a host computer and records on journal paper journal data obtained as a result of communication with the host computer. Data is encrypted, and encrypted data is exchanged between the terminal device and the host computer. The encrypted journal data is printed together with the normal journal data on the journal paper. The algorithm used to encrypt the data is stored on an ic card issued to the user and updated periodically. By comparing the journal data with its encrypted data, journal data alteration can be easily detected.
