  • Patent number: 7406893
Abstract: In a clearance-free supporting structure for a pivotal axle applicable to an operation device of a multi-stage automatic transmission, at least one pair of first projections is formed on a housing between which the pivotal axle is inserted to enable a pivotal movement of the pivotal axle, a pair of left and right truncated cone shaped portions are formed on the pivotal axle, at least one pair of second projections is formed on the housing to graspably contact with the pair of left and right truncated cone shaped portions to enable the pivotal movement of the pivotal axle, at least one recessed portion formed on the housing at a position placed in proximity to a base portion of each of the pair of first projections to enable a slidable contact thereof with the pivotal axle, and a biasing device biases the pivotal axle to be pressed toward the recessed portion.

  • Patent number: 5255570
Abstract: A shift-lock device has a locking member associated with a projection member to engage with the locking member for establishing locking engagement. One of the locking member and the projection member is rigidly connected to a selector of an automatic power transmission and the other is rigidly secured to a stationary member in the vehicular body. The locking member is normally and resiliently biased toward locking direction for establishing locking engagement with the projection member. The locking member is associated with a lock release actuator which is electrically operable and active for a predetermined period only when a predetermined safety condition is established.

  • Patent number: 5207740
Abstract: A control device for an automatic transmission is disclosed. The control device is provided with a base member mounted on a vehicle body. A shift lever is pivotably supported by the base member. A guide structure and a check structure and a shaft-locking device are mounted on the base member. The shift lever is provided with a positioning pin movable in the axial direction of the shift lever. A guide structure for guiding the shift lever is provided with a positioning plate having a parking position part and a moving position part engaging the positioning pin. The positioning plate is provided with a buffer member at the moving position part. The check structure for moderating motion of the shift lever has a plurality of positioning recesses on the positioning plate and a check arm for contacting the positioning recesses.

  • Patent number: 5015807
Abstract: An intermediate lever is additionally disposed between the position pin of the shift lever shifted to Park-position and the Park-position detecting switch. Therefore, even if the axial stroke of the position pin along the shift lever at Park-position changes according to the models of the shift lever apparatus, it is possible to use in common the same standardized Park-position detecting switch by changing the shape or dimensions of only the intermediate lever, thus reducing the parts stock or maintenance cost thereof. Further, it is also possible to mount the switch at any desired position away from the pin locating cutout formed in the shift lever support frame.
