  • Publication number: 20020178882
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for cutting plate-shaped or sheet members to form parts that do not require a screwing operation and thus improve the operability in manufacturing parts of a desired configuration from the sheet member. The method for cutting sheet or plate-shaped members to form parts of a desired configuration from the sheet members includes cutting them by pressing them down from above. A first cutting step cuts a substantial portion of the outline of the desired configuration leaving a small portion of the outline uncut by weakly pressing the sheet members down from above around a portion to be cut. A second cutting step cuts the parts out from the sheet members of the desired configuration by cutting the small uncut portion by strongly pressing down around the desired configurations.

  • Patent number: 6264185
Abstract: A suction pad (A) is adapted to be placed on a suction table (2) a plurality of openings (2a) connected to a negative pressure generating source (3) in order to fix a work piece (W) by suction on a top surface (5d) of the suction pad (A). The suction pad (A) includes a communicating passage (5a, 5b, 5c and 6a) for communicating the top surface (5d) with a bottom surface (6b) of the suction pad (A) and for communicating negative pressure from the openings (2a) of the suction table (2) to the top surface (5d) of the suction pad (A) when the suction pad (A) is placed on any one of the openings (2a) of the suction table (2). A magnet (10) is provided for attracting a plug (4) for normally closing each of the openings (2a) of the suction table (2) so as to communicate the negative pressure generating source (3) with the communicating passage (5a, 5b, 5c and 6a).

  • Patent number: 6183172
Abstract: A structure for detachably mounting a horizontal drill head 5 on a drill head 4 including a driving spindle 10 rotatably driven by a driving means, a head case 2 for holding the driving spindle 10 above a work table 26 on which a work or works “W” are placed, and an advancing/retracting means for moving the driving spindle 10 toward and from the work table 26. The horizontal drill head 5 has a driving shaft 1 that is connected to the driving spindle 10 and horizontal drills 29 which are arranged substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of the driving shaft 1. The horizontal drill head 5 is mounted on the drill head 4 via a guide pin 7 slidable within a bearing 6 that is mounted on a sidewall of the head case 2 along a direction parallel to the advancing/retracting direction of the driving shaft 1.
