    Abstract: An information providing system 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an acoustic signal transmitter 10 for transmitting data in the form of sound waves, a portable telephone 20 serving as an acoustic signal receiver (terminal) for receiving the sound waves and reproducing the data, and a server 50 connected through the Internet 40 to the acoustic signal transmitter 10. The acoustic signal transmitter 10 may transmit the data as sound waves in one-way fashion at a timing determined by the acoustic signal transmitter 10 without reliance on transmission control signals or the like received from the acoustic signal receiver 20. The data which is transmitted as sound waves may employ data frame(s) which may contain information for error detection.

This method enables the production of a membrane electrode assembly that is substantially free of boundary and that has a catalyst layer in which a porous and sufficient three-phase boundary is present.

    Abstract: A film stretcher that transports a film material in a predetermined transport direction while holding an end of the film material in a width direction of the film material to stretch the film material in the width direction includes a holding unit that includes a stretching roll having an annular groove formed on an outer periphery of the stretching roll and an endless wire fitted in the annular groove over a predetermined rotation angle range of the annular groove in a circular arc shape so that the end of the film material in the width direction of the film material is pinched. The stretching roll is inclined so as to open toward a downstream side in the transport direction of the film material. The holding unit transports the film material in the transport direction while pinching the film material using the stretching roll and the endless wire, whereby the film material is stretched in the width direction.

The image sensor includes an effective pixel region and an optical black region. The memory temporarily stores photoelectric-converted image data after the shutter is opened. The temperature acquisition unit acquires an ambient temperature when the temperature is determined to be equal to or more than a threshold value when the image data is stored in the memory. The acquisition controller makes control for shutting the shutter and for acquiring photoelectric-converted image data at that time when the temperature is equal to or more than the threshold value. The writing unit cuts out image data of the effective pixel region from the acquired image data. Difference in optical black level is corrected using the cut-out image data.
