  • Patent number: 6064301
Abstract: A roadway deviation prevention system prevents a vehicle from deviating from the roadway. This roadway deviation prevention system has an on-vehicle transceiver which transmits a vehicle presence signal having a prescribed frequency, and data carriers, which are installed on a road, for emitting a warning signal resonating with the vehicle presence signal when the vehicle comes close to the data carriers. The on-vehicle transceiver has an annunciator which generates an alarm sound to inform the presence of the data carriers to the driver of the vehicle based on an induced voltage generated in the transceiver unit by the electromagnetic induction of the warning signal. The data carrier emits the warning signal based only on the energy generated when the resonance circuit receives the vehicle presence signal. Thus, this data carrier operates with no power source.

  • Patent number: 5818761
Abstract: To a column line to which a selected memory cell is connected, a write bias voltage is supplied through a selection gate transistor having different channel conductivity type than the memory cell transistor. Current drivability of the selection gate transistor is adapted to be larger than a leak current of the memory cell and to supply a current smaller than the channel current when a channel is formed in one aspect. When a verifying voltage is applied to the selected word line, a large channel current flows when a channel is formed, potential of a subbit line is changed accordingly, and programming is suppressed. In another aspect, the selection gate transistor serves as a constant current source to make the programming speed of the memory cells constant. Thus distribution of threshold values after programming can be made narrow.

  • Patent number: 5546578
Abstract: A data base retrieval system includes a memory for storing vicinity feature values of data records as search (or retrieval) objects of the data records. The vicinity feature values indicate a correspondence between data characters of the data records which are in the same vicinity. A searching device obtains matching degrees between a vicinity feature value of a search (or retrieval) key and the vicinity feature values of the search objects of the data records. Data record numbers are output arranged in a descending order of the matching degrees. Since phase information of data (position information indicating the position of a search key in a record) as a factor for prolonging the search time upon execution of full-record direct searching is abstracted by a vicinity feature value calculation, a high-speed and fuzzy searching operation can be performed so that the search time depends only on the length of the search key information, and does not depend on the volume of data.
