  • Patent number: 5077889
Abstract: A process for fabricating a PTC thermistor device. A pair of opposing electrodes are formed on either major surface of a ceramic plate PTC thermistor element. Metallic plate heat radiation fins are secured to the opposing electrodes by brazing in a non-oxidizing environment. The PTC thermistor element is then heat treated in an oxidizing environment. Optionally, the opposing electrodes may include shield layers for preventing emission of gas from the PTC thermistor element during brazing.

  • Patent number: 5040596
Abstract: Disclosed is a heat exchanger core in which a fluid is caused to flow through a pipe body rectangular in cross section so that the heat exchange is effected between the flowing fluid and a heat medium in contact with the outer walls of the pipe body. Within the pipe body, a plurality of projections and/or grooves for flowing the fluid at an inclined angle with respect to the direction of the flow of the fluid (the axis of the heat exchanger core) and the streams flow through the inclined passages, respectively, and then are reversed in direction. Such a flow pattern is repeated so that the efficiency of heat transfer by conduction can be improved without the noticeable increase in pressure loss.

  • Patent number: 5012399
Abstract: A self-oscillation type converter comprises a transformer and a switching transistor. The switching transistor is connected in series to a primary winding of the transformer. A start current is applied from a power supply line to the switching transistor through a start resistor, so that the switching transistor is rendered conductive. A positive feedback is performed through an application of a constant current from a constant current circuit to a base of the switching transistor in response to a voltage generated from a feedback winding, whereby the switching transistor is turned on rapidly. A CR time constant circuit is connected to an output of the constant current circuit. An output of the CR time constant circuit is applied to the base of the transistor, a transistor Q2 is turned on after a lapse of time determined by a time constant of the time constant circuit, so that the switching transistor is forcibly turned off.
