  • Patent number: 5393866
Abstract: A method for the production of polytetramethylene ether glycol wherein polymerization of tetrahydrofuran in the presence of fluorosulfonic acid is followed by hydrolysis of the resulting polymer, characterized by(1) using the fluorosulfonic acid at 0.007-0.3 molar equivalents with respect to the tetrahydrofuran;(2) using in combination therewith fuming sulfuric acid which contains free sulfur trioxide at 0.05-1.0 molar equivalent with respect to the fluorosulfonic acid; and(3) adding said fuming sulfuric acid to the tetrahydrofuran prior to adding the fluorosulfonic acid thereto.According to the method, high quality polytetramethylene ether glycol with a low fluorine content may be obtained at a high yield without lowering the polymerization temperature. For example, PTMG may be obtained with 3 or fewer, and preferably 2 or fewer terminal fluorines per 2,000 termini of the resulting PTMG.

  • Patent number: 5303231
Abstract: A switch includes a plurality of memories respectively having write terminals connected to input ports and output terminals, each of the memories including an input acknowledgement signal generating block for generating an input acknowledgement signal when data is received thereto. A multiplexer, which is coupled between the read terminals of the memories and an output port, connects one of the memories to the output port in response to a port number signal. An output controller, which is coupled to the memories and the multiplexer, receives the input acknowledgement signal from each of the memories in order of receipt and generating the port number signal so that data stored in the memories is selected by the multiplexer in order of receipt of the input acknowledgement signal.

  • Patent number: 5185741
Abstract: An inter-network connecting system comprising a main network having an exchange function and a subnetwork having no exchange function, to improve the expandability, economy, and efficiency of the subnetwork. When an extension line communication which is a communication in the subnetwork is to be carried out, a call setting processing processor in the main network gives a calling terminal a first special signal so as to operate lookback means in a connection control unit in the subnetwork to set a physical communication paths for an extension line between terminals in the subnetwork; and when an outer line communication which is a communication between the main network and a terminal in the subnetwork is to be carried out, the call setting processing processor gives a calling terminal a second signal so as to stop the operation of the loopback means in the connection control unit to set a physical communication path for an outer line between the exchange and the terminal in the subnetwork.

  • Patent number: 5166675
Abstract: A communication system containing a master station and a plurality of slave stations. The master station receives a request from one of the plurality of slave stations and memorizes one or more requests from one or more slave stations. The master station also sends a request sending allowance signal which addresses one of the plurality of slave stations to give an allowance to send a request for sending data, and sends a data sending allowance signal which addresses one of the plurality of slave stations to give an allowance to send data, according to a request which is memorized. Each of the slave stations detects a request sending allowance signal which addresses its own slave station, and a data sending allowance signal which addresses its own slave station. Each of the slave stations also sends a request for sending data to the master station when its own slave station detects a request sending allowance signal which addresses its own slave station.
