  • Patent number: 8072294
Abstract: The filter has a switch function of selectively transmitting a transmission signal through one of first and second branch waveguides branching from a primary waveguide. The filter includes resonators disposed in the first and second branch waveguides. The resonator includes a space formed inside a metal cover, a central conductor disposed inside the space, and a short-circuiting plate. The central conductor has one end grounded to an outer conductor. The short-circuiting plate allows the neighborhood of an open end of the central conductor to be selectively conducted to the outer conductor. The filter performs a selection from the first and second branch waveguides by switching electrical conductivity in a region between the neighborhood of the open end of the central conductor and the outer conductor.
