  • Patent number: 5303018
Abstract: A color electrophotographic apparatus arranged as follows is disclosed. A plurality of image forming units (1BK, 1C, 1M, 1Y) each including a developing device having an electrostatic latent image holding member and toner of a different color are employed. Each of the image forming units is arranged to be displaceable so as to be moved to the same image forming position for positioning. At the image forming position, the image forming unit is exposed to light image by an exposure device for image formation, with its toner image being transferred onto a transfer material through a confronting transfer transport device. The image forming unit at the image forming position is sequentially exchanged, and by the reciprocation of the transfer material through the transfer/transport device, toner images of respective colors are transferred as overlapped through positioning for coincidence, onto the same transfer material.

  • Patent number: 5301066
Abstract: A lens barrel of the present invention directly detects the lens-to-lens spacing between a focusing lens and another lens, whose position relative to the focusing lens exerts the largest influence upon a focused condition, by a measurement detector and, depending on an output indicative of the measured spacing, a controller drives the focusing lens through a driver to a proper in-focus condition. Accordingly, a very valuable advantage results in that a focusing position error of the focusing lens group, which has been encountered in the prior art, can be avoided to enable effective and high-accuracy focusing operation and control through a simplified structure.

  • Patent number: 5298949
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus has a photoreceptor drum supported for rotation in one direction sequentially past a plurality of processing stations, a corona charger for electrostatically charging the photoreceptor drum, a developer hopper accommodating therein a mass of developing material used to form a visible toner image and a transfer charger for transferring the toner image onto a recording paper. The developer hopper has its bottom portion formed with an opening open so as to accommodate a portion of the photoreceptor drum, so that the developing material can be electrostatically deposited on the photoreceptor drum, including both non-image and image areas, to form a toner layer. The apparatus also includes an electrode member operable to electrostatically remove a portion of the toner layer covering the non-image area, thereby leaving the remaining portion of the toner layer in the image area to form the visible toner image.

  • Patent number: 5282012
Abstract: A color electronic photographic apparatus includes plurality of image forming units, each having a different electrostatic carrier and a different colored toner. Each of the image forming units can be moved to the same image forming position when exposed to light by a light exposing mechanism at the image forming position so as to effect an image forming operation, so that toner images are individually transferred onto a transfer material. In the color electronic photographic apparatus, the image forming units are sequentially moved into the image forming position, and also, the transfer material is reciprocated by the transfer carrying device so that the toner images of each color are properly superposed on the same transfer material.
