  • Patent number: 5677744
Abstract: The display apparatus of the invention includes: a first substrate and a second substrate which are disposed so as to face each other; a display medium having variable optical characteristics sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate; a display circuit provided on the first substrate; and a coordinate input section for inputting coordinates of a point on the first substrate.

  • Patent number: 5518078
Abstract: In a panel member of a coordinates input device, a first input unit and a second input unit are set on a pair of transparent electrodes and the first input unit only allows input by a member of a relatively large pressing pressure such as by using a pen. The second input unit also allows input by pressing with a member of a relatively small pressing pressure, such as a finger, and thus is not limited to a pen.

  • Patent number: 5130847
Abstract: A copying machine in a casing has a window in the casing for visually recognizing a printing position and image pickup position, so that the printing position and image pickup position may be adjusted through the window. An illumination apparatus to be used in the copying machine is located in the casing, and the light from a light source is led onto the imaging surface by an optical guide member, which illuminates the illuminating position such as the image pickup position. Since the light from the light source can be shielded by the casing, the illuminating position can be recognized visually through the window.

  • Patent number: 4999617
Abstract: A coded information reading device for reading code pattern displayed on a CRT display unit of a television receiver and for outputing information signals corresponding to the code pattern includes a suction cup to be attached to the surface of the CRT display unit and a photo sensor integrally installed in the suction cup for reading the code pattern displayed on the CRT display unit.

  • Patent number: 4956639
Abstract: A display data processing device for processing bar code data displayed on a display screen such as a television monitor by an interlaced scanning process includes a photosensor for reading bar code data displayed on the screen, a counter circuit for counting the coded data bits read by the photosensor means to determine whether the data is displayed by an odd-number field or an even-number field and which produces a signal corresponding to the result of the determination. This signal is used in conjunction with a plurality of timer circuits which provide signals corresponding to the duration of odd and even number field scanning periods to ensure accurate storing of data in a shift register which is provided with the output signals of the photosensor.

  • Patent number: 4901163
Abstract: An image reader of manual scan type for a portable copier is disclosed. The image reader comprises a reading head for scanning a document manually, memory means for storing image data read by the reading head, write control means for writing said image data into the memory means and a printer. The image reader further comprises image data processing means for adjusting image data obtained by the image sensor so as to form a noise free image upon writing image data into the memory means. Also the image data processing means operates to delete image data of a reference line indicative of a manual scan starting position.

  • Patent number: 4887227
Abstract: An image input processor having a detector which detects whether or not the rate of the width of a character or characters are cut off from the read character information with respect to the readable width being over a predetermined value. Also, the image input processor has a printer which prints the cut-off character or characters when the detected rate is over the predetermined value, and prohibits printing of the cut-off character or characters when the detected rate is less than the predetermined value. Whereby necessary information and unnecessary information can be distinguished from each other based on the degree of the read image information that is cut off.

  • Patent number: 4835609
Abstract: A data processing device for reading a code signal output from the image output screen of a video receiver. The device is provided with a read controller to synchronize the code signal reading operation with the code signal display timing of the video receiver.

  • Patent number: 4790077
Abstract: A ruler for fixed-distance movement which includes a guide member provided at one end of a linear ruler section and slidable at a specified angle along a guide section of a base plate; a leaf spring containing a projection, mounted at the same one end of the ruler section; a corrugated gear provided along the same guide section of the base plate, the corrugated gear having a plurality of recesses at regular intervals for engagement with the projection of the leaf spring. The projection of the leaf spring, when engaged with a recess of the corrugated gear, stops the movement of the ruler section, thus enabling the ruler section to move step-by-step over a fixed distance at a specified angle to the guide section.
