Abstract: An educational device is adapted to receive a programmed tape cassette having voice signals and data signals stored thereon. The programmed tape cassette is organized so that the voice signals include questions as well as other entertaining subject matter, while the data signals include answers to the corresponding questions. The voice signals and data signals are read from the tape cassette and a playback circuit provides a voice playback signal to a speaker, while providing a data playback signal to a microcomputer. The microcomputer is also connected to a keyboard and a display, as well as being connected to drive the tape cassette. In operation, the tape cassette is driven and an audio question is produced by the speaker. At the same time, the correct answer data is stored by the microcomputer. After the audio question has been generated, the tape cassette is stopped and a user is allowed to input answer data via the keyboard.
