  • Patent number: 7591387
Abstract: A fuel filling port structure of a fuel tank is provided in which a lid housed in the port structure is biased towards a closed position when a fuel supply nozzle is not inserted, and moved to an open position when the fuel supply nozzle is inserted. Lid locking mechanisms are disposed in the port structure which lock the lid in the closed position or unlock the lid so as to be movable to the open position corresponding to the insertion of the fuel supply nozzle.

  • Patent number: 6913693
Abstract: To provide an in-tank type fuel pump system capable of sharing a fuel filter among various mounting types of a fuel pump to a fuel tank. A fuel pump and a fuel filter are contained in a fuel tank. A discharge port of the fuel pump is connected to the fuel filter. A filter is contained in a main body of the fuel filter. A projecting portion is provided at one end of the main body, and a passage passing though the projecting portion is provided in the projecting portion. Fuel inlets are disposed at opposed ends of the passage in the direction of an axial line thereof. The discharge port is connected to either of the fuel inlets, and the other thereof is closed with a plug. A discharge passage passing through the main body is provided in the main body. Opening portions at both ends of the discharge passage in the direction of an axial line thereof are taken as fuel outlets. Either of the fuel outlets is selectively opened and the other is closed with a plug.

  • Patent number: 6419273
Abstract: A predetermined volume for a fuel tank and to make the fuel tank slim and further to provide a more suitable knee-grip. The rear end portion of the fuel tank is formed into an extension extending rearwardly behind the rear end portion of the main frame and is arranged under a seat and between left and right seat rails. The fuel tank is expanded under the seat. Accordingly, even if a predetermined volume is ensured for the fuel tank, the front portion of the fuel tank in front of the seat can be reduced in width, height, and length to make the fuel tank slim as a whole and, in particular, to make a knee-grip narrower to provide a most suitable riding position.
