  • Patent number: 7160390
Abstract: During displacement relative to a substrate 1, a coating die head emits coating liquid out of a slot 12a to a surface of the substrate. The coating die head includes a lip 12b having a lip surface 12b and a side having a side surface 12c. A contact angle of the surface 12c with respect to the coating liquid is greater than a contact angle of the surface 12b with respect to the coating liquid. This configuration enhances stabilization of bead of the coating liquid during application process of the coating liquid, preventing stripes and steps from appearing in the coating layer. This coating die head makes it possible to carry out high precision coating required for fabrication of color filters for liquid crystal displays.

  • Publication number: 20040022954
Abstract: Coating liquids (A) and (B) containing a plurality of organic solvents are previously multilayered on an inclined slide surface 2. The multilayered coating liquids (A) and (B) are transferred onto a substrate 4 to make a multilayered coating film. A coating liquid, which has a mixture ratio of a true solvent and other solvents higher than a ratio at which a gelation starts, is used as the coating liquid (B) for making a lower layer. Thus, a clearly separated multilayered coating film can be achieved without a boundary face between layers being blurred because of solvent diffusion, even when the coating liquids have low viscosity.

  • Patent number: 5776545
Abstract: A method and an equipment in which a comparatively thick film such as the barrier rib of a plasma display panel is formed by one time of coating process. According to the nozzle coating equipment (10), a coating line (21A) is formed in such a way that, while a coating solution is being discharged from the tip of a nozzle (20) which is provided at the lower end of a liquid vessel (18) filled with the coating solution, the liquid vessel (18) carrying the nozzle (20) is driven in an X-direction relatively to a glass plate (16). Subsequently, the liquid vessel (18) is shifted in a Y-direction to the amount of a pitch P which is smaller than the width of each coating line, whereupon the next coating line (21B) is formed. Thus, a coated surface (22) is formed on the glass plate (16) in such a manner that the adjacent coating lines overlap each other in the widthwise direction thereof in succession.

  • Patent number: 5162024
Abstract: In a rotational speed differential responsive type control coupling, restrictions of a fixed opening are provided for restricting discharge of oil through discharge passages and thereby producing an oil pressure for urging relative rotatable coupling members against each other. By-pass passages are provided for by-passing the restrictions and thereby preventing production of the oil pressure for urge of the coupling members. The by-pass passages are selectively opened and closed by means of a control valve.
