  • Publication number: 20050181273
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of designing a redox flow battery system that can prevent system efficiency loss caused by weak generation power or load power at the time of electric charge or discharge, without using any lead storage battery, and can also provide further improved system efficiency. In the present invention, generating equipment that varies irregularly in output of power generation is provided with the redox flow battery to smooth the output of power generation. An average value of output distribution of the battery with respect to the smoothed output of power generation and standard deviation are determined. Then, at least either of a specified output of the battery and a specified output of the converter for converting the battery output is determined based on the standard deviation.

  • Patent number: 5850135
Abstract: To facilitate the charging of an electric automotive vehicle, a primary coil 31 connected with a charging power source is so provided as to project from a wall surface W of a parking space. An electric automotive vehicle E is advanced toward the wall surface W and parked in a position where the primary coil 31 is accommodated in a receptacle 11 provided below a front bumper B of the vehicle E. Then, a pressure switch 40 provided in a shock absorbing material 39 operates to detect the presence of the vehicle E, and the primary coil 31 is excited. A secondary coil 14 is provided above the receptacle 11. A voltage is generated in the secondary coil 14 by action of electromagnetic induction, thereby charging a battery 19.

  • Patent number: 5821731
Abstract: A connection system and connection method for easily charging an electric automotive vehicle are provided. A secondary coil 20 connected with a battery 21 is provided at the bottom of a body of an electric automotive vehicle E. On the other hand, a recess A is formed in the ground of a parking lot, and a coil moving device 30 for movably supporting a primary coil 10 is installed in the recess A. Three magnetic sensors 50 are provided on a body 40 of the coil moving device 30. Further, power supply circuits 13a to 13e provided in an external power supply equipment 11 at the back of the parking lot and a main controller 12 supply power to the primary coil 10, magnetic sensors 50 and coil moving device 30 and control them. In order to charge the battery 21, the vehicle E is parked, straddling the recess A, and the secondary coil 20 is excited.

  • Patent number: 5570181
Abstract: A method of detecting impurities in a molten resin. The molten resin is massed through a passage having a window through which light can pass. Light is emitted from a light source through the window and the molten resin flowing through the passage. Sensors are used to sense a shadow produced when the light from the light source is interrupted by an impurity contained in the molten resin. Finally, the size of the impurity is measured from the width of the shadow and the intensity of light of the shadow. Also, judgment is made that if optical signals obtained by detecting the light that has passed through the molten resin indicate that there exist bright areas around a dark area, the dark area is distinguished as a shadow of an impurity. Further, in order to judge the shape of an impurity with high accuracy and record its image, a plurality of the devices used in the above method or the device used in the above method and a conventional camera may be used in combination.
