  • Publication number: 20030147005
Abstract: The present invention is relative to a video signal transmitting/receiving system in which digital video signals are transmitted from a transmitter (30) to a receiver (50) using a line (9) as a transmission channel. The transmitter (30) converts the video signals to be transmitted to a bit string longer in data length than a pixel making up the video signals, allocates a plural number of the bit strings to a blanking period during which pixel data in the pixel string is not transmitted and, using these bit strings, transmits the same superposed data a plural number of times. The receiver (50) extracts the specified bit strings indicating the blanking period from the received data and performs majority processing on the results of demodulation of the extracted bit strings to decide on output data. This reduces errors in reception of supplementary data to simplify the circuit structure as well as to ameliorate the error rate.

  • Publication number: 20020167972
Abstract: An original blanking period of a video signal is shortened to a set blanking period, and audio data is multiplexed into a resulting superimposing period. Table distinguishing data indicating the length of the superimposing period is inserted into the period as a blanking signal. With this configuration, it is possible to enable transmission and reception of an audio signal in a system capable of transmitting and receiving a video signal.

  • Publication number: 20020003815
Abstract: A data transmission device transmits a data broadcast using a narrow unused broadcasting band in a digital broadcast, and to record the data broadcast, which has been received, on a receiving side so that the receiving side can play back the data broadcast after a data stream is totally recorded. The transmission device generates a first data stream, which is recorded on a recording medium on a receiving side, and a second data stream including audio and video data, which is transmitted as a broadcasting program. The transmission device multiplexes the first and the second data streams and then transmits the multiplexed data stream. The transmission of the multiplexed data stream is controlled so that a transmission rate for the multiplexed data stream does not exceed the maximum transmission rate, and so that a transmission rate for the first data stream becomes lower than that for the second data stream.

  • Patent number: 6112180
Abstract: The invention provides data transmission and reception methods and apparatus by which timer reservation of a program can be performed readily. A data signal including program information generated from a program information generation section is added to modulate an audio information signal supplied from an audio signal supply section by an addition modulation section. In the addition modulation, the audio information signal is phase modulated at a delineating point of sound thereof such as chimes or musical sound with the data signal. Together with the audio information signal phase modulated with the data signal, the audio information signal prior to the phase modulation is transmitted as a reference signal to be used for demodulation.

  • Patent number: 5596067
Abstract: A method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate comprises introducing to an introduction zone (having a perforated plate) a) a molten monomer mixture of an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a diaryl carbonate, or b) a molten prepolymer obtained by a process comprising reacting an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate, and allowing the monomer mixture or prepolymer in the molten state to pass downwardly through the perforated plate and fall freely through a free-fall polymerization reaction zone, thereby effecting polymerization of the monomer mixture or prepolymer during the free-fall thereof. Colorless and high quality aromatic polycarbonates are thus stably produced at a high polymerization rate for a prolonged period of time, using an apparatus which has excellent sealing properties under high vacuum and maintenance of which is easy.

  • Patent number: 5206738
Abstract: A video tape recorder has a recording current setting unit for setting recording currents to be supplied to a recording head for recording audio and video signals on a magnetic tape. The recording current setting unit controls electronic volume controls to adjust and output audio and video signals to set the recording currents. Level detectors detect reproduced signals, which have been recorded on the magnetic tape by the recording head, and supply the detected signals to the recording current setting unit. The recording current setting unit controls the electronic volume controls to hold the audio signal at a constant level and to simultaneously vary levels of luminance and chrominance signals of the video signal with the levels being kept at a constant ratio, and at the same time controls the recording head to preliminarily magnetically record the audio and video signals on the magnetic tape.
