Publication number: 20240118394Abstract: There are provided a device and a method that execute light output control that eliminates an occlusion region and does not disturb blinking pattern light of a mobile device. At least one of a light application region or a light output timing of output light of a light output unit is determined on the basis of a data analysis result based on sensor input information and reception information from another device, the light output unit is controlled according to the light application region or the light output timing that has been determined, and a light output process is executed. Specifically, for example, light output control is executed so as to eliminate an occlusion region which no light reaches due to a pillar or the like, and moreover, so as not to disturb blinking pattern light output from the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2022Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Sony Group CorporationInventors: Hirotaka TANAKA, Shoji MATSUDA, Katsunori HONMA, Satoshi SUZUKI

Patent number: 7328392Abstract: A disk array system is provided, which can improve data reliability by verifying addressing correctness of data access by applying a redundant code to user data even if using an HDD compatible with serial ATA, etc. whose sector length cannot be extended. When writing the object data to an HDD, a controller stores partly-extracted data of the object data in a control area and performs an XOR operation between the partly-extracted data and a check code generated by calculations. Then, the operation-resultant data (CC-embedded data) are returned to the object data and written in the HDD. Also, when reading the object data from the HDD, the controller fetches the CC-embedded data, performs an XOR operation between the fetched data and the check code, and compares and collates the operation-resultant data with the partly-extracted data in the control area to check the addressing correctness and restore the user data.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2004Date of Patent: February 5, 2008Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Chikusa, Seiki Morita, Toshio Tachibana, Takehiro Maki, Hirotaka Honma

Patent number: 7139170Abstract: In a disk array device for cooling respective sections including a HDD by a fan, drop of cooling efficiency by the difference of conditions of HDD mounted and unmounted sections is prevented and the use of a dummy HDD is deleted/eliminated. A housing contains a HDA mounted on the HDD, a power controller board for performing control to the HDD, a power unit for supplying power to each section, a fan for cooling the housing therein, and a backboard for connecting all the sections. On one backboard surface, the HDA is mounted, which has a cooling function for making cooling air flowing in the housing and exhausting air from the housing via a region on which the HDA are mounted and via a vent hole on the backboard. For the vent hole, a shutter is mounted, which has a mechanism for adjusting an open area rate of the vent hole by opening when the HDA is mounted and closing when removed.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2004Date of Patent: November 21, 2006Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Chikusa, Masanori Hori, Toshio Tachibana, Takehiro Maki, Hirotaka Honma

Publication number: 20060077724Abstract: The present invention enables to secure data reliability by avoiding data loss in an early failure period of an operation of a disk array system to which no particular measures have been taken conventionally. A controller of the disk array system stores first data to be stored in a HDD into a part of the region of one or more HDDs of an overall storage region composed of a plurality of HDDs and stores backup data of the stored first data into a part of the region of one or more HDDs in such a manner that they may be stored in the different HDDs. When there are no enough free space regions to store the first data in the overall storage region, the region in which the backup data is stored is overwritten to be used.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2004Publication date: April 13, 2006Inventors: Takashi Chikusa, Yutaka Takata, Toshio Tachibana, Takehiro Maki, Hirotaka Honma
