  • Patent number: 9116592
Abstract: A data processing device includes an input unit including an input detection region, a detection unit, a partition region setting unit, a valid region setting unit, a longitudinal direction determination unit and a magnification determination unit. The detection unit detects input to the input detection region. The partition region setting unit partitions the input detection region into partition regions. The valid region setting unit sets, among said partitioned partition regions, a partition region in which input is detected as a valid region. The longitudinal direction determination unit determines a longitudinal direction of the valid region. The magnification determination unit determines a magnification for enlarging or reducing a size of a drawing corresponding to the input in the valid region, so that a width along a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the valid region conforms to a width along a transverse direction of a printing medium.

  • Patent number: 8270034
Abstract: When the length of a print area in a print tape is designated and an instruction to print a symbol image of a two-dimensional code and character information is given, a printing apparatus sets the print size of the symbol image of the two-dimensional code to a predetermined print size defined as the initial setting, but changes the print attributes of the character information from the initial values to adjust the length of the character string, so that the character information can be printed together with the symbol image of the two-dimensional code within the print area in the print tape, that has the designated length. The printing apparatus prints the character information whose print size is adjusted and the symbol image of the two-dimensional code maintained at the predetermined print size, in a serial arrangement, in a range of the print tape having the designated length.

  • Publication number: 20120206736
Abstract: A printable width setter sets a printable width that corresponds to a printable width of a printing medium. A display displays a character string. A specifier specifies at least one first character selected from the character string displayed on the display. A requester requests an emphasis process to the specified at least one first character. An emphasis processor performs a size up process of increasing a size of the specified at least one first character until the size of the specified at least one first character reaches the specified size allowed based on the printable width set by the printable width setter. The emphasis processor performs a size down process of decreasing a size of the at least one second character that has not been specified by the specifier, if the size of the specified at least one first character exceeds the specified size.

  • Patent number: 7995222
Abstract: A printer having a first printing mode in which information is printed in a normal image on a general printing tape and a second printing mode in which information is printed in a mirror image on a transfer tape. When the printer prints a two-dimensional code symbol image 40b in the second printing mode on the transfer tape 31b, the printer also prints a two-dimensional code symbol image 40a in the normal image in an area of the transfer tape next to its area in which the symbol image is printed in the mirror image. At this time, an additional confirmative indication 42 is printed close to the symbol image 40a printed in the normal image to indicate that this symbol image should be used only for confirming the content of the symbol image printed in the mirror image.
