  • Patent number: 9955234
Abstract: The video receiving apparatus is capable of transmitting and receiving data via a communications network. The video receiving apparatus includes a video extractor, a controller, a calibration executor, and an input unit to which a video signal is input. The video extractor extracts a partial video, which is to be used for video recognition processing, from the video signal. The controller controls the following operations: That is, the controller transmits, to a video recognition apparatus, either the partial video or content recognition information formed from the partial video, thereby requesting the video recognition apparatus to perform the video recognition processing. The controller acquires a result of the video recognition processing from the video recognition apparatus, and acquires the additional information based on the video recognition processing from an additional-information delivering apparatus.

  • Patent number: 9906843
Abstract: Video recognition processing on video signals input from an outside is performed. Hence, video reception device which is configured to transmit and receive data through communication network includes input unit, video extraction unit, video recognition region setting unit, control unit and additional information display control unit. The video recognition region setting unit detects superimposing information superimposed on a partial video, and sets a video recognition region or video recognition candidate regions to the partial video based on a detection result. The additional information display control unit generates content recognition information in the video recognition region or in the video recognition candidate regions of the partial video. The control unit performs control of requesting video recognition device to perform video recognition processing on this content recognition information.

  • Patent number: 8494303
Abstract: An image processing apparatus for automatically improving the contrast of an input image that is obtained from a digital camera or the like, and obtaining a sharper and clearing image. A contrast improvement unit performs a contrast improvement process on the input image by comparing an object pixel in the input image with pixels in the surrounding area. An image combination unit combines the enhanced image obtained by the contrast improvement process with the input image. The combined image is then output to a desired device such as a printer by an image output unit.

  • Patent number: 8325278
Abstract: When a format of a video signal or an audio signal received by a receiver of a video/audio signal input/output device is switched by a channel selecting operation by a user, a format determiner determines an output format. An output format communicator transmits format information indicating the output format to a video/audio reproduction device through a communicator. After a converter switches the output format, the communicator transmits the video signal and the audio signal to the video/audio reproduction device. When a communicator of the video/audio reproduction device receives the format information, a format switcher switches reproduction setting of a display based on the format information. After that, when the communicator receives the video signal and the audio signal, the display reproduces video and audio.
