  • Publication number: 20230036035
Abstract: An information processing apparatus comprises a first heat generation circuit, a second heat generation circuit, a blocking assembly, and a processor. The blocking assembly performs a first operation of blocking air flowing from the first heat generation circuit toward the second heat generation circuit or a second operation of passing the air, and the processor is configure to instruct the blocking assembly to perform the first operation in a case where a temperature of the air is higher than a predetermined value, and instruct the blocking assembly to perform the second operation in a case where the temperature of the air is lower than the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 7475328
Abstract: A loop status monitoring apparatus monitors a status of an arbitration loop that includes a plurality of devices and a switch that controls connections between the devices, has at least one of loop status detection data, primitive detection data, and frame count data, and includes a failure detecting unit that detects whether an initialization failure, which is a connection failure, has occurred during an initialization of the arbitration loop from the loop status detection data; and a device identifying unit that identifies, when the initialization failure is detected, a device with the initialization failure occurred from the primitive detection data or the frame count data.

  • Patent number: 7444437
Abstract: An input/output device and a method of setting up identification information for an input/output device, to confirm which slot of which device enclosure each unit is mounted in, within a short time, from a map, and execute quick access to the unit. A unit mounted on a device enclosure is assigned a slot identification information that does not overlap with that for another unit in the device enclosure, each device enclosure is assigned device enclosure identification information that does not overlap with that for another device enclosure, and a table is formed using unit identification information, which consists of the slot identification and the device enclosure identification information, and which does not overlap with that for another unit in the device, thus allowing a unit in the device to be specified.

  • Patent number: 7412628
Abstract: A storage system in which a plurality of storage devices are connected by a pair of loops, disconnects a faulty storage device. The faulty storage device is disconnected from said loops by using, in conjunction, a first disconnect mode, in which a disconnect instruction is issued to a device control unit via a first path which connects controllers and device control units, and a second disconnect mode, in which a disconnect instruction is issued to a device control unit via a second path which connects loops connecting the plurality of storage devices, storage devices, and device control units. Even when a pair of connection ports of a storage device is abnormal, and even when the first path is abnormal, the faulty storage device can be disconnected reliably.

  • Publication number: 20060184761
Abstract: An identification information diagnosis method is used in an input and output apparatus in which first identification information unique to each storage unit is written in each storage unit that is inserted into a corresponding slot of each device enclosure, and a physical address of each storage unit is obtained from second identification information unique to each enclosure and the first identification information that is read from each storage unit of a corresponding device enclosure and stored in the corresponding the storage unit. The diagnosis method obtains a regular physical address from prestored first and second identification information, reads the first identification information from the storage unit accessed by the regular physical address, and diagnoses the first identification information read from the storage unit accessed by the regular physical address, based on a diagnosis table.
