  • Publication number: 20150227211
Abstract: A gesture input method includes acquiring motion information of an individual based on a gesture of the individual. The method also includes performing normalization and position-coordinate conversion on the acquired motion information, where the normalization is a correction of at least a first body data of the individual into a second body data that is indicative of a normal figure provided as a base model. The method also includes matching, based on one or more parameters, the normalized and converted motion information against a template to recognize the gesture of the individual, where the one or more parameters include position, velocity, acceleration, distance, and direction. The method further includes generating information for operating an object on a screen on the basis of the normalized and converted motion information that is matched to the template.

  • Patent number: 9032336
Abstract: The present invention provides an input interface that a human can operate naturally and intuitively using a human gesture (motion), by including means for acquiring motion information based on a gesture and input interface means for generating information for operating an object on a desktop of a computer on the basis of motion information. In this case, the motion information is matched against a template for recognizing a motion of a user and a matched event is outputted so that the object is operated. The object includes a pie menu in which a menu item is disposed in a circular form. A user is allowed to selects a desired menu item in the pie menu in accordance with an angle at which the user twists a wrist thereof.

  • Patent number: 8024663
Abstract: [Object] To provide communication space for the user to have crossing over of discussions with respect to plural phrases while allowing the discussions to be conducted individually in parallel. [Means for Solution] A module for generating phrase object (FO) data which contain identification information of phrase data and position information of a FO on a chat canvas (CC), a module for generating chat data which contain message text data and display position information on CC, a module for transmitting the chat data to a server, and receiving the chat data distributed from the server, a module for transmitting the FO data to the server and receiving the FO data distributed from the server, and a module for displaying the FO or the message text on the CC based on the FO data or the chat data are provided. The display mode of the message text is determined based on the display mode of the FO located close to the display position of the message text.

  • Patent number: 7885731
Abstract: A mobile unit input control apparatus can include an operation member, output means, determining means, display control means, input control means, and driving control means. A mode determining unit of the mobile unit input control apparatus can determine whether a driving mode is to be set or not and whether a text input mode is to be set or not in accordance with an operation signal supplied from an operation input apparatus and notifies it to an operation detecting unit. The operation detecting unit detects and analyzes the operation signal supplied from the operation input apparatus and outputs operation information as the analysis result to a text input control unit, for example. On the basis of the operation information, the text input control unit outputs a text input screen, for example, to the multi-display apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100114402
Abstract: [Object] To provide an input control technology that allows performing text input on a peripheral apparatus mounted in a mobile unit such as an automobile in the same way as driving operations and allows performing text input safely. [Solving Means] A mode determining unit 310 determines whether a driving mode is to be set or not and whether a text input mode is to be set or not in accordance with an operation signal supplied from an operation input apparatus 100 and notifies it to an operation detecting unit 320. The operation detecting unit 320 detects and analyzes the operation signal supplied from the operation input apparatus 100 and outputs operation information as the analysis result to a text input control unit 340, for example. On the basis of the operation information, the text input control unit 340 outputs a text input screen, for example, to the multi-display apparatus 500.
