  • Patent number: 10843518
Abstract: A fragile portion is provided at a portion of a suspension arm which is positioned near a vehicle-body attachment portion. The fragile portion is configured such that when a load which is greater than a specified magnitude is inputted to a front wheel from a vehicle forward side, the suspension arm is bent at the fragile portion, whereby the front wheel is rotated rearwardly around the fragile portion.

  • Patent number: 10773752
Abstract: A reinforcing member is provided inside a closed cross section of a front side frame at a position, in a vehicle longitudinal direction, which corresponds to a forming position of a bead. The reinforcing member extends between an outward side wall portion and an inward side wall portion of the front side frame. The reinforcing member is joined to the outward side wall portion and the inward side wall portion of the front side frame. A joint length, in the vehicle longitudinal direction, of the reinforcing member and the inward side wall portion is set to be longer than that of the reinforcing member and the outward side wall portion.

  • Patent number: 10656115
Abstract: A controller of an air-fuel-ratio sensor according to an embodiment includes a current supplying unit, a sweep processing unit, and an abnormality detecting unit. The current supplying unit supplies a current to the pump cell through a first terminal connected with the pump cell so as to control the pump cell. The sweep processing unit executes a sweeping process in which a predetermined voltage or a predetermined current is applied to the detection cell through a second terminal connected with the detection cell so as to change a voltage and a current of the detection cell. The abnormality detecting unit detects a short-circuited state between the first terminal and the second terminal on the basis of a fluctuation in a voltage or a current, generated by the sweeping process, of the first terminal.

  • Patent number: 10647361
Abstract: A frame (extension frame) extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction on an outward side, in a vehicle width direction, of a powertrain mounted at a front portion of a vehicle includes front-side and rear-side high strength portions which are spaced apart, in the vehicle longitudinal direction, from each other and a low strength portion which is positioned, in the vehicle longitudinal direction, between the both high strength portions. The low strength portion has a lower bending strength than each of the both high strength portions. A specified portion which is a part of the low strength portion is positioned on the outward side, in the vehicle width direction, of and in front of a part of the powertrain (oil pan) which is located at the same level as the specified portion of the frame.

  • Patent number: 10316780
Abstract: A controller of an air-fuel-ratio sensor includes a control unit, a voltage-abnormality detecting unit, and a short-circuit-abnormality detecting unit. The control unit controls a current and a voltage of a gas sensor element through a plurality of terminals connected with the gas sensor element. The voltage-abnormality detecting unit changes, when at least one of voltages of the plurality of terminals is out of a predetermined range, a voltage level of an output voltage. The short-circuit-abnormality detecting unit causes, when the voltage level of the output voltage changes from a first voltage into a second voltage, a control unit to perform for a predetermined time a protective operation that suppresses currents from the control unit to the plurality of terminals, and detects, when the voltage level of the output voltage is the second voltage after the protective operation is released, a short-circuit abnormality.

  • Patent number: 8950778
Abstract: The strength of an instrument panel member (12) at a portion thereof between a steering shaft support part (16) and a linking part (13) on the side near a steering shaft (11) is set lower than the strength of the instrument panel member (12) at a portion thereof between the steering shaft support part (16) and a linking part (14) on the far side from the steering shaft (11), with respect to a load input through the linking part (13) on the side near the steering shaft (11) in the vehicle body front-rear direction. The above configuration makes it possible to suppress movement of a steering wheel inward in the vehicle width direction to thereby securely restrain a vehicle occupant by an airbag at the time of a vehicle frontal collision.

  • Patent number: 8899662
Abstract: A rear apron panel is provided between a suspension tower and a dash panel. A vertical branch brace is provided to extend upwardly from a front side frame along an inner face of a suspension tower to form a closed cross section with a rear portion of the suspension tower. A deformation restraint member interconnects the apron frame and the vertical branch brace. Accordingly, there is provided a vehicle-body front structure which can restrain the apron frame from deforming outwardly in the vehicle width direction in the vehicle frontal collision to prevent the dash panel from moving back into the vehicle compartment too much.
