  • Patent number: 8510855
Abstract: An image distribution apparatus capable of preventing a third party from knowing that a photographer is away from a specific place, based on information indicative of shooting date and time or a shooting location, which is stored in a manner associated with an image shot by the photographer. A blog server receives an image from an camera-equipped cellular phone. The image has location information added thereto which is indicative of a location where the cellular phone existed during shooting processing of the image. The blog server stores the image, and determines whether a location indicated by the location information is within a predetermined area. The blog server permits distribution of the image via a network if the location is determined to be within the predetermined area, but inhibits distribution of the image if the location is not determined to be within the predetermined area.

  • Publication number: 20120287161
Abstract: At the first scale size, a predetermined first arrangement position is determined as the arrangement position of an image to be arranged on a map. At the second scale size larger than the first scale size, the second arrangement position closer to the shooting location of the image than at a position corresponding to the first arrangement position on the map at the second scale size is determined as the arrangement position.

  • Publication number: 20120170908
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a technique capable of preventing resources from being wastefully used due to continuous reproduction of video data which cannot be viewed by a user as the video data does not exist in a display range of a window or preventing the user from missing the video data. A CPU of a video transmission apparatus determines whether a reproduction frame of video data during reproduction is within a display range of a window. As a result of the determination, if the reproduction frame is not within the display range, the reproduction of the video data is stopped and a reproduction position is stored.

  • Patent number: 7199820
Abstract: Image pickup processes of a plurality of image pickup apparatuses are synchronized by using one kind of communication medium (for example, IEEE 1394-1995 standard or its extended standard). A control device selects a master camera from the plurality of image pickup apparatuses. The master camera generates a time stamp for synchronizing frame synchronization signals of all of the image pickup apparatuses (including the master camera). All of the image pickup apparatuses (including the master camera) generate the frame synchronization signals on the basis of the time stamp generated by the master camera and generate image data on the basis of the generated frame synchronization signals.

  • Patent number: 6727940
Abstract: This invention allows a user to simultaneously control geometric parameters for a camera and suppresses a deterioration in the image quality of distributed video images while keeping the cost low. The invention includes an image sensing area calculation unit for calculating a minimum image sensing area including required areas from clients, a required video image forming unit for forming required video images by extracting video images of the respective required areas from a video image of the image sensing area which is sensed, and a video image transmission I/F for distributing the formed required video images to the respective clients. Only the minimum area including the respective required areas is sensed, and video images of the respective required areas are cut from the video image and distributed to the respective users, thereby allowing a plurality of users to simultaneously control the camera and obtain video images at desired viewpoints and view angles.
