  • Patent number: 4700186
Abstract: A radio wave signal control arrangement for a lock mounted on a vehicle door which is controlled on an on-off basis. A portable key signal generator is provided which issues a radio wave instruction signal. A stationary lock controller receives the instruction signal. An actuator is mounted on the vehicle door and is operated by the lock controller when the latter is actuated by reception of the radio wave instruction signal. An outside accessible switch is mounted on the vehicle door, and provides a door-lock state reversing enabling signal to the lock controller to unlock the lock if it is locked or to lock the lock if it is unlocked.

  • Patent number: 4638292
Abstract: A theft preventive system, in an automotive keyless entry system with automatic door locking, is adapted to produce an alarm signal in response to door opening when the theft preventive system is in a door-locked position, and which is cooperative with a door-lock system but independently operable in order to switch its operating mode from a door-locked mode to a door-unlocked mode. The theft preventive system in an automotive keyless entry system, according to the present invention, includes a push-button-type function key for operating a door-lock mechanism to lock a vehicle door. A memory circuit is responsive to a door-lock signal fed from the door-lock function key to indicate the door-locked condition. The content of the memory cannot be cleared unless a plurality of door-unlock function keys are properly operated. An alarm circuit is responsive to a door-open signal from a door switch in the presence of a memory output indicative of the door-locked condition to produce an alarm signal.

  • Patent number: 4492959
Abstract: There is provided a keyless entry system in which a permanent code, or first code, and a user's code, or second code are used. The second code is presettable in conjunction with use of the first code. When the first code is inputted, the system gets ready for presetting a desired number of code elements consituting the second code. According to the invention, the system is provided with a circuit for variably presetting the number of the code elements, which circuit is responsive to the first code to vary the presetted number of the second code elements to that inputted following to the input of the first code. Preferably, the keyless entry system further includes a theft prevention circuit which inhibits input of a code for a given period of time when wrong codes are inputted more than a predetermined number of times.

  • Patent number: 4486806
Abstract: A door locking system for an automotive vehicle including an anti-theft automatic door locking apparatus by which the door can automatically be locked a fixed time period after the door has been closed in the case where an ignition switch is open and the ignition switch is left at the steering-lock position. The door locking system according to the present invention comprises an ignition switch for detecting the state in which the engine is not operating, a door-close switch for detecting the state where the vehicle doors are closed, a timer for delaying the automatic locking of the doors for a fixed time period, and an AND gate, in addition to the conventional door locking system.

  • Patent number: 4477806
Abstract: A mischief preventive electronic lock device has a mischief prevention system which prevents lock/unlock operation for a given period of time after a pushbutton input unit has been operated extraordinarily often in comparison with usual number of keystrokes required for entry of an input code. The electronic lock device is normally operated to lock/unlock a door matching by the input code with a preset code. The mischief prevention system is adapted to count the number of keystrokes from the input unit to perform the foregoing preventive operation whenever the keystroke count exceeds a predetermined value. The mischief prevention system permits further input after expiration of the given period. This discourages trial-and-error attempts to satisfactorily protect the electronic lock device from mischief.

  • Patent number: 4463349
Abstract: An electronic lock system is provided with an audible entry monitor for confirmation of entry of an input code and a mischief preventive circuit for disabling the audible entry monitor for a given period of time in response to an excessive number of inaccurate code input attempts. The audio signal generator is associated with a pushbutton input unit having a plurality of push buttons. The audio signal generator is adapted to produce an audible signal whenever an input code is entered through the input unit. The audible signal generator is also associated with a comparator for comparing the input code and a permanent code. The comparator is adapted to allow the system to change a voluntary code and operates the audible signal generator to produce another audible signal for a predetermined period while the system is capable of accepting entry of the new voluntary code to be preset.

  • Patent number: 4437153
Abstract: In the present invention, the control system comprises a number presetter in the form of a switch board including a certain number of, say five, pushbutton switches. By depressing them sequentially and selectively in a desired order, an arbitrarily selected number code signal can be delivered. This number code signal may have five or seven digits, as an example. Further, there is a first memory which has a predetermined memory content representing a permanent code signal specifically selected at a vehicle manufacturing stage which is unique to the automotive vehicle under consideration. As an example, this may be "5 - 1 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1- 5". Further, there is a first comparator adapted for comparison of the permanent memory content in the first memory, with an arbitrary number code signal generated at and delivered from the switch board. If there is coincidence between the both signals, the switch board's outlet signal is conveyed to a second memory.

  • Patent number: 4403172
Abstract: A motor vehicle interior light control system wherein actuation of outside door handle does not cause the interior light to illuminate, but the interior light is illuminated for a predetermined period such as 10-50 seconds only after full return of the door handle from its once actuated position to its normal position, said operation control being accomplished by a CR-timer and a multi-stage transistor amplifier in combination.
