  • Patent number: 4676479
Abstract: A valve body containing a ball valve member and having a threaded portion on the outer surface of an end portion thereof is connected with a body cap having a flange integral therewith on the outside end, by screwing a cap nut having an annular rib on the inner surface of the outside end thereof on the threaded portion of the valve body. A split ring is inserted into the space between the body cap and the cap nut. The split ring consists of two divided ring elements. Each ring element is provided with a fitting projection to be fitted into an annular groove of the body cap, on the inner surface of the outside end, and a collar-like projection is provided on the outer surface of the inside end. Both ends of the inner surface of the fitting projection of the ring element are cut off at the corners. The body cap is connected with the valve body by pushing the annular rib of the cap nut against the collar-like projection of the split ring and screwing the cap nut onto the threaded portion of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4616804
Abstract: A gate valve comprising a valve casing having a valve chamber therein, a valve body moving up and down in the valve chamber so as to open and shut a valve passage, and a spindle engaged with the valve body and moving up and down in accordance with rotation of a handle so that the valve body moves up and down in the valve chamber. A cover is mounted above the valve chamber so as to seal and isolate the valve chamber. An upper threaded portion of the spindle passes through the cover. A guide ring having projections therearound is attached to the spindle. The projections of the ring are fitted into vertical lead grooves arranged on the inner wall of the cover.

  • Patent number: 4592534
Abstract: A valve assembly which includes a valve body made of a hard synthetic resin, preferably PVC or PVDF. The valve body is formed with a fluid passage laterally extending therethrough, and having no flanges for connection with neighboring pipings. There is a valve member for the cooperation with the valve body, the valve member has nearly a true cylindrical outer configuration, having a taper of 1/30-1/10. A shallow concave groove or recess is formed in the bottom wall surface of the valve member kept in fluid communication with the axial bore formed in the latter. The material of the valve member is selected to be softer than that of the valve body for securing benefit for aquiring better wearing characteristics in cooperation with the valve seats. This material is preferably polypropylene. The working surface of the valve member has a generally convex-cured configuration and the valve seat of the valve body has a concave configuration mating therewith.

  • Patent number: 4266754
Abstract: The invention relates to a butterfly valve assembly having a stationary valve body formed with an axial fluid flow passage opening and a turnable valve member adapted for full opening, partial opening and full closing of the said passage opening. There is provided further a valve seat ring composed of an inner protecting layer of fluoride containing resin and an outer back-up layer of rubber or its equivalent. According to this invention, at least two parallel ring grooves are provided on the radially outwardly directing surface of the said elastomer layer which has a substantially channel-shaped cross-section embracing a substantial part of the valve body when the valve seat ring is attached in position to the valve body.
