  • Patent number: 9756208
Abstract: An image reading device includes a contact glass, a document transport device, a first reading module, a second reading module, a opposite roller, and roller holders. The opposite roller transports a document while keeping it in close contact with an image reading surface of the second reading module arranged inside the document transport device. The roller holders rotatably support the opposite roller, and on their faces facing the second reading module, a pair of patterns for detection is provided to detect the inclination of the opposite roller. The patterns for detection are each formed to be increasingly wide toward a first end side in the axial direction upstream from an intersection in a central part thereof in the document transport direction, and increasingly wide toward a second end side opposite from the first end side downward from the intersection in the document transport direction.

  • Patent number: 9363397
Abstract: An image processing portion determines that a black stripe is present when among a plurality of main scanning lines included in a back end side range from a last back end position of the reading image data in a sub-scanning direction to a predetermined position, a main scanning line in which a density value of a pixels in a predetermined position is higher than a first threshold density is present, sets, at a reference line, a main scanning line farthest from the last back end position among the main scanning lines in which the density value of the pixel in the predetermined position is higher than the first threshold density and replaces density values of all pixels included in a range from a position of the reference line in the sub-scanning direction to the last back end position with a density value corresponding to white.

  • Patent number: 9185262
Abstract: An image reading device includes a light source, an imaging element and a control unit. The light source irradiates light on a document. The irradiated light of the light source reflected by the document is incident on the imaging element. The control unit is configured to, if the document is an ordinary document having no light-emitting screen, set a light amount of the irradiated light of the light source at a predetermined reference value and is configured to, if the document is a special document having a light-emitting screen, reduce the light amount of the irradiated light of the light source to become lower than the reference value.

  • Patent number: 8325392
Abstract: An image reading device is provided. The image reading device suppresses uneven intensity of light emitted on a subject, by disposing a diffusion plate between the subject and a plurality of luminescence portions, and an image forming device that includes this image reading device. The image reading device includes an illumination portion that irradiates light onto a subject. The illumination portion includes: a plurality of LED's disposed at predetermined intervals in a main scanning direction; and an elliptical diffuser plate that is disposed between the subject and the plurality of LED's and diffuses light emitted by the plurality of LED's in a higher diffusion rate in the main scanning direction than in a sub-scanning direction.

  • Patent number: 8194294
Abstract: The present invention is aimed at providing an image reading device that suppresses generation of a so-called edge shadow while suppressing uneven intensity of light emitted onto an original. A color copy machine 1 includes an illumination portion 347a that irradiates an original G with light. The illumination portion 347a includes a plurality of LEDs 501 disposed at predetermined intervals in a main scanning direction, an elliptical diffuser plate 507 that is disposed between the plurality of LEDs 501 and the original G and causes the light emitted by the plurality of LEDs 501 to diffuse, and a second reflection mirror 541B that reflects light, which is a portion of the light diffused by the elliptical diffuser plate 507 and not directly irradiated onto the original G, so as to irradiate the light onto the original G.
